Fifth time in the wonderful village of Puligny-Montrachet, but first time at Maison Leflaive
and it did not let us down. Friendly staff at the reception, clean and nice room on top floor called Pop decorated with pop albums and some pop-posters.

The hotel is located in a typical Burgundian village, in a traditional house, situated in an understated village square. Our first floor room had been recently refurbished and was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a good bathroom. I am mobility restricted but access (with an elevator) was no problem. We had pre-dinner drinks in a sitting room, furnished simply and comfortably, with a piano, games and books which however we took no advantage of. Evidently on warm evenings you can dine outside in a courtyard but it was too cold for that the day we were there. The dinner featured a fixed menu of simple dishes which stayed in the background of a series of six glasses of white wine (you can have more or fewer). They are all from Olivier Leflaive's vinyards, and, sipped in a crescendo, reached a climax with two Meursaults. They were served with knowledge, charm and good humour by an Australian sommelier. Olivier's co-owner brother, Patrice, circulated round the tables with a good humoured welcome for each, in fact all the staff were consistently warm and welcoming.

As we checked out in the wet morning, I could not justify to myself the cost of some bottles of the Meursaults (though I am sure they are worth it) but the tasting had given me the confidence to buy some of the lesser wines at a correspondingly lesser price. In view of the weather, we declined the opportunity to visit the vineyards.

It was not a cheap stay but I have no complaints: quality costs money. I will remember the stay, and I will readily stay again if the opportunity arises.

It lived up to the reviews as a charming place with helpful staff. Our room (1) was large with a large bathroom. No elevator, so you are carrying the bags up a narrow stair. Breakfast brunch is not included, and far to pricey for the selections. We grabbed cafe and bagette at the boulangerie on the corner of the small square. It was great being in the middle of white burgundy country. Beaune is close and convenient.

Thank you for taking time to share your experience.
We do have 4 rooms with stair access only, and 9 with elevator access.
Don't hesitate to ask for an elevator access next time.
Hoping you will come back.

My family and I stayed here as part of a bike tour. Beautiful property right in the middle of town. Excellent and consistent service, from checkin to checkout. Updated rooms. I enjoyed a lovely wine tasting on the patio.

We attended the set vineyard tour, presentation by M. Leflaive in his winery and wine tasting in the hotel restaurant. Our vineyard guide imparted a range of good information about Bourgogne and its wine styles, followed up by the insights of the wine maker. The tasting lunch is hosted by a sommelier. Accompanying food was good quality and appropriate for the wine tasting. This is a true wine and food experience which is not offered a lot in Burgundy - hearing directly from the winemaker and his team about all aspects of wine making, then tasting some excellent product.
