Excellent, detailed service that will find it hard to find elsewhere in this day and age. Probably the best hotel we have visited in France. Outstanding food from a very talented kitchen. Please don't book when i want to go back next year!

Room Tip: rear rooms 1st floor open directly onto terrace and pool

We had an overnight stay at this hotel and immediately wished that we had booked a week. The Tarn Gorge and the Corniche des Cevennes are spectacular. The town itself is very quaint with two mountain streams that rush down to join the river Jonte. The Hotel has limited parking across the road which is close to one of these streams. There is a large town car park a few minutes away that is approached by a small bridge over the stream near to the Hotel.
Our double bedroom was clean, well furnished and comfortable. It overlooked the outdoor swimming pool and fields to the rear of the hotel which had a sunny aspect for most of the day. The electric window shutters proved useful in keeping the room cool and secure. Le Mont Aigoul’s restaurant offers gourmet cuisine from the Cevennes region. Daniel Lagrange is reputably the best Chef in Meyruis. His wife Stella Robert manages the front of house with such efficiency that the service levels are second to none. The combination is awesome.
As I said to Madam Robert as we left, we will be back for longer next time and based on our experience we will make a point of booking demi-pension.

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear enjoy a sunny aspect.

We did not stay at Hotel du Mont Algoual, but at Hotel Europe, a few doors away down the road and in the same family. However, we had access to Mont Algoual's grounds and pool, both good, and thoroughly enjoyed one evening meal in the restaurant. What a delight to watch a restaurant work like a well-oiled machine; the service was friendly, nothing was missed, the decor was appropriate, and the food excellent. Highly recommended.

I wish we had stayed more than one night. Room was on the first floor with a door onto the rear terrace. The hotel had a small lift which was a pleasant surprise. The Bed was comfortable; firm but not hard. The main surprise was the restaurant which was superb.
The hotel is situated just a few minutes walk from the centre of town. The location was quiet and parking just outside the hotel. Will recommend and stay next time in the region.

Room Tip: First floor bedrooms leading onto the outdoor terrace/garden/pool

We stayed here for 3 nights with bed, breakfast and dinner. The room was recently decorated and was very clean and comfortable. Indeed the entire hotel was spotless. We had a view over the garden and pool at the back of the property. The rooms are slightly quirky with the window at the end of a little corridor, of of which were bathroom, but it did not detract from the comfort. However the thing that really won it for me was the food. The breakfast was continental but very copious and the evening meals were simply marvelous. The food was very well cooked and presented, tasty, from the region. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and the entire stay was just great.

Room Tip: I'd suggest asking for a room overlooking the garden rather than the front of the hotel which overlooks the road.
