“Good welcome, good food, good value”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

I had the 3 course set meal for 14 euros. All 3 courses were very good meal - roquefort salad starter, dorade (bream) for main and blueberries with chantilly cream for dessert. Taken on the terrace alongside the river that runs through the middle of Meyrueis. House red wine was cheap and pleasant.

We ate outside. My husband had the menu of the day and I had one dish. It was very good.

“Good Food and Generous portions but...”
Reviewed October 8, 2011

The staff here are just so busy that you need to have a lot of patience to wait to be served. On our first visit the food we had was very good (try the melon with ham at 8 euros) but the staff are all over the place and often covering the same tables rather than actually organising themselves to have specific areas.
We enjoyed the first meal here it was long winded but we passed the time talking to a very nice dutch couple next to us. The next visit was a different story. Such a massively long wait, crazy staff running from one long waiting group to another. We took the menu of the day this time and my partners steak really was poor. After the long wait he didn't have the patience to send it back to the kitchen.

“Avoid this tourist trap”
Reviewed July 24, 2011

From the attractive blonde luring you in, to the disgusting food and bad service, this restaurant has all the elements of the classic tourist trap.
We had mussels that were advertised as the Dish of the Day, yet they were old and stank beyond belief. I am absolutely not a fussy eater but didn't finish them because I was afraid of getting sick. The cheese salad was okay, but the spaghetti bolognese was awful, and the ravioli with mushroom sauce simply inedible.
On top of this, service was quite bad. We were served the wrong wine, the female owner was shouting at one of the waitresses and insulting her in front of the guests, every hygiene rule you can imagine was being broken etc.
My advice is to avoid Le Sully at all cost. There are far better places even in little Meyrueis. The best food we had was at Hotel du Mont Aigoual, a little further up the road. For about the same price you get cuisine mentioned in the Michelin guide. The cheap pizzeria Au Vieux Four was also great; even the touristy La Cardabelle next door was significantly better than le Sully.
