We visited this beautiful hotel in June 13 and we were treated so well. The manager Burek Sumer went out of his way to assist us including escorting me via taxi to the only open pharmacy in town. He also resolved problems with our Istanbul travel agent with considerable expertise. Burek is quite the professional. The hotel itself is extraordinary- the stonework, the rooms, the views. Late in the day when the swallows come up to chase bugs on the breezes of Mesopotamia you feel so transported. Thank you for an enchanting stay in beautiful Mardin- we will be back!

I brought my family to this hotel to visit the city and we all liked it so much! The staff is very friendly, the rooms are nice and the view from the terrace is stunning!

I highly recommend it and would like to come back soon!

I have been to Mardin many times and I satayed in almost in every boutique hotel in the city. Tatlıdede Hotel and its new management since 2012 contributed a lot to service quality, customer satisfaction and the overall hotel management. I always suggest to all of my businessman friends to stay there and their feedback is the same with me. Last week I went for business again and stayed there, and I recognized that a new led lights are in the small pockets of the rooms, which give you a real historical atmosphere as if candles are lightened and also the towels are newly purchased, some very nice accessories are put in the rooms etc.

Amazing and must-to-stay hotel in Mardin, you will have the real stone house experience with a great services.

Room Tip: I would suggest you to stay especially in the suits no 302 which is my favourite

We found Antik Tatlidede through recommendations of TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet and arrived there to find a very comfortable and luxurious hotel with great views, relaxing environs and very helpful staff. After checking in, we were immediately offered chai, the first of many with which we would sip and relax. Burak, the manager, wanted to ensure our comfort. In fact, we often heard the phrase, "I will solve your problem" and he lived up to that.

As described by previous reviewers, the location requires driving through the market place, but this is managable. Our taxi driver and we, in a rental car, negotiated the people, donkeys and stands to park at our hotel. The hotel is right near the main street in Old Mardin where we found shops for silver (telkari), soap and even wine. While there are wine shops (with very dusty bottles of wine in the window), it seemed more than a few other shops sold homemade wine made in Mardin.

Our room was one of the more luxurious ones we have had in Turkey. Spacious even with an additional chair (so we could both sit at the table), the room had sufficient heating and comfortable bed. With the room on the lower terrace, the staff helped to bring our heavy luggage down the stairs. The bathroom was clean and the shower was forceful with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was very satisfactory with hard boiled eggs, spreads, cheeses, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh bread, chai and coffee.

We want to commend the manager, Burak, for his success in ensuring our stay was comfortable, relaxing and enriching. We were fortunate that he spoke English. He helped to extend our car rental for no extra charge so we could see the Dara ruins and was able to share some background on the region. When we returned from our day's exploring, he regularly offered complimentary chai which was refreshing and relaxing. On our last day, Burak even organised breakfast on the terrace to enjoy the wonderful view of Mesopotamia. Beyond him, We also want to recognise the staff for their part in making our stay memorable.

Room Tip: Room 205 was spacious and warm with easy access to restaurant, breakfast room and terrace.

We had booked through Booking.com and when we arrived almost all the rooms were unoccupied. The only room that had two separate beds actually had five beds, but it was so spacious that we were happy to take it. It was on the lower level, down a rather steep stone staircase (of course they carried our luggage). We were offered a suite at the same price, but it had only one bed. Our windows were on two sides of the room and we had an obstructed but impressive view of the plains below Mardin. The hotel does not serve alcohol, but there is a beer store nearby, and we had it in our room (not allowed on the terrace) along with a wonderful breakfast the hotel provided as an evening meal. Situated on a street that is also a daily marketplace, you will need help finding the hotel and getting your car through the crowds, and the hotel was happy to guide us in and back out. We had to move some lettuce that had been put beside our car for the horses to eat. The serpentine bazaar is a short walk, as is the city museum and archeological museum. Recommended restaurant: Cergis Murat Konagi, specializing in authentic regional food. Bay laurel soap and images of Shamaran, a half-woman, half sea serpent are popular souvenirs.

Room Tip: Staff is happy to show the rooms for your choice.
