the service was non existent, the rooms smelled like smoke. the food at the restaurant was very average and expensive. the room was extremely cold as we entered. the room was extremely cold when we checked in and took an hour for the heater to make it comfortable enough that we could remove our jackets. there was a lot of noise at night from other guests slamming doors and talking in the hallways. in a boutique hotel these things should be controlled better. the erdoba has a good reputation but i found nothing to like, let alone love.
the rooms could have been any room at a motel 6.

The hotel is one of the finer places to stay. Rooms are comfy, though small. The food is average, late and cold. No alcohol is served in spite of the gorgeous view that begs for a glass of anything. Overall, a place to stay, but not enjoy.

This is a boutique (here, "butik") hotel and charges accordingly, but I found it poor value. We took two double rooms in the main hotel (Ottoman Konak). The rooms were fine, but certainly not charming and picturesque as I had expected. The walls looked and felt like cinderblock; the rooms were fairly small and slightly smelly; and even though one of them had a great view over the Syrian plain, no way to enjoy it (small window, nowhere to sit). The TV only shows Turkish stuff. The breakfast was absolutely abysmal. We also had lunch on the terrace once and it was pretty good, though a bit slow on service.

The worst part of the whole thing was that a huge group of youngish Turkcell managers were having a conference here. In the evening they would hang out on the main terrace and make a lot of noise. Most of the rooms are right below it and so all this noise is impossible to get away from. Also if anyone is hanging out in the small courtyard between the two wings of the building, it gets noisy. Also, a mosque is very close by, so, again, lots of noise when the muezzin calls for prayer. Overall, very poor sleep quality.

We stayed during the new years weekend 2012. The incredibly friendly staff was one of the reasons why we enjoyed our stay so much. We stayed in the main house where the rooms have no view and it being winter we couldn't really enjoy the terrace, but still the view hits you everytime you walk in the building or leave your room. The food at the hotel's restaurant is amazing - delicious and very reasonably priced. The view from the terrace is beautiful and the hotel is located conveniently in the old town where you can walk to most of the museums, mosques and churches. We had one little problem - the hotel is alchol free, so on new years eve to make a toast we had to go back to our room and share a bottle of wine bought at the suryani wine vendors - from a few doors down on the same street -. We are not alcoholics but some celebrations do require a glass of liquor of any sort

i stayed in Mardin for a week partly because of the hotel. You will not get enough of the beautiful view on the platform, and the room is clean and of all comfort. I like the staff here, coz they do care about you and they smile from their heart. They can always sense your need and serve without interrupting, amazing, right? When i arrive here for the first day, i complained about the chilling during the night with my friend only, but the next day they put an extra blanket on my bed, so sweet. Anyway it's my best experience in Mardin, coz i found my home here

Room Tip: i do think 409 is good coz i have a good view here

This is a clean, relaxing, comfortable and peaceful hotel. Its rooms are smartly designed and tastefully furnished. Everytime I go to Mardin, I generally stay at this hotel.

The only negative thing is the breakfast area which is located in a tightly-spaced and windowless basement area.

Other than that, if you want to see real Mardin, then this hotel would be the perfect choice for it is located right at the center of the old town.

On the other hand, if you are looking for luxury and more amenities, then you better go to the Hilton Hotel just a little bit outside of the city.

I found here by a recommendation of my collegue and I stayed here one night for a business trip. It was a low season (In Ramadan) I guess, there were not too much people around. I stayed in "Osmanli Konakları" and they arranged me a room with a window open to landscape , the room was clean with a good air condition.
Atmosphere of entrance and inner garden of the hotel is so authentic.
I paid 100TL with a company discount (as they told)
The hotel has a roof restaurant towards a magnificant Mesopotamia scene but food prices are high. You must enjoy this scene at least for some Turkish coffee or waterpipe.
