I just came back from the dreamiest, most spectacular paradise island in Belize. The scuba diving experience was extroardinary with top notch instructors and a full service dive shop. I got my certification within 5 days, and I have the confidence to dive in other places in the world. Great service, great food. The perfect vacation.

The favorite part of my stay was to be in a private Cabana built over the water. The resort is flanked by water on the windward and leeward side, so wherever you are on the resort, you are beach front.

The price was not the least expensive. I paid $207.00 per night which included all my meals and water activities and amenities in the resort such as: kayaking, windsurfing, hot tubbing, Hobie Cat salling, snorkeling, diving and riding a Waverunner.

I took several inland trips to various places which included: Lamanai, an ancient Mayan ruin which had the most enchanting river ride to the site, zip lining and cave tubing which was really wild and fun-filled, and a dive in the Blue Hole.

Belize abounds with adventure adtivities and archeological destinations. I would go again at the drop of a dime. St. George's will definitely become my home away from home in Belize.

My husband, daughter and I stayed here for one week and couldn't have had a more wonderful vacation. St. George's Caye Lodge has mastered the art of treating its guests to the ultimate tropical experience. We booked our week through Luxury Link, an auction site. It was an all-inclusive package that included lodging, meals, scuba diving and several tours. St. George's Lodge is on an island that is a 20 minute boat ride from Belize City. We were greeted at the airport by an employee of the Lodge and he took us to the pier where a boat was waiting to whisk us away across the beautiful green water to the island. We docked right next to our cabana. The cabanas are built over the water and are air conditioned thatched huts. We totally loved it - very authentic! They are very large, clean and come with comfortable king sized beds, refrigerator, full bath w/shower and had plenty of room for a roll-away (which was very comfortable). During our stay we received 3 incredible meals a day and an appetizer before dinner. These meals are served in the main lodge building just a short walk through the coconut trees and tropical plants to the other side of the island. The lodge has hammocks hanging beneath the coconut trees and hot tubs to use at your whim. It also provides several catamarans and kayaks (they are just sitting on the beach waiting for you) and jet skis. The main lodge also has a great bar inside where any type of drink can be made (even some that you've never even thought of!). We received 6 scuba dives with our package and had the time of our lives. They truly provide a valet service for diving. We were met on the dock right beside our cabana, escorted onto the boat and taken to the perfect spots for diving. Our scuba gear was already hooked up and waiting for us. All we had to do was get ready to enter, our goggles were cleaned for us,. tanks lifed for us and then assisted into the water. The underwater experience was incredible to say the least! Dolphins, eagle rays, sea turtle, sharks, tons of tropical fish. After the dives our gear was removed and lifted onto the boat, all we had to do was climb out to a waiting beach towel. They cleaned all of our gear for the next dive. Could it be more perfect? The service was incredible. Our dive master, Jose, was superb. He knew exactly where to take us to the see the most marine life. We were transported back and forth to the Mayan ruins at Lamanai (a must!) , cave tubing (cool and refreshing), and the zoo (not to be missed - animals you don't see at home). The staff at the Lodge go out of their way to ensure you have absolutely everything you need and more! They even had a bonfire on the beach and served a full-course meal to go with it. I cannot say enough good things about them. It was to say the least, PERFECT! We were so sad to have it end and already talking about going back - you won't be disappointed!

The diving experience here is superb, with an exceptional dive staff. Ratio of divers to dive masters was 3-to-1 or better, with careful attention to safety and great knowledge of flora and fauna. Very special. Dive boat is basic, with no head on board. Steel tanks could use fresh paint.

Staff at the Lodge is warm and accommodating. A laid-back, intimate experience, with only 12-14 rooms. Accommodations are spacious and rustic, not anywhere near luxurious, with overhead fans and wall air conditioning units. Comfortable bed. Food is a set menu with Belizian flavors, served family style, and while generally tasty, meat was sometimes overcooked and dry. Fresh breads and fruits were wonderful, as were the daily soups. Nice bar, though at $12, drinks are pricy. No night life on the island, but you go there to dive, not party.

Not what we expected regarding level of accommodations and food, but we enjoyed our stay there and because of the excellent staff and diving, would consider returning.

We are always listening and always committed to provide a great experience and very, very good value. In response to our guests' feedback, I personally reviewed our beverage inventory and drink pricing in our lounge two weeks ago. I am very pleased to report that we now offer a majority of our drinks in the $4 to $10 price range, with a 30% reduction on our average drink price. We know that our returning and new guests will appreciate the new affordability of our tropical beverages.

Saint George's Lodge is a small resort which has about 12 rooms in the main lodge adjecent to the bar. There are 6 thatched cottages behind the main lodge located over the water in a cove surrounded by mangroves. They are renovating a large building which will contain 3 bedrooms, a conference center, with a hot tub on the room. There is a beautiful view from the roof and you can see the whole island.

St. George's Island is a small island without the commercial aspects of the larger islands. The food was served family style and the was more than enough for everyone. 15 of us were boating and stopped there for a meal and ended up staying for 2 nights. The staff members were very friendly, and professional, and did an exceptional job taking care of 15 unexpected guests.

We all fell in love with the place and have booked the lodge for a week trip next fall for our Marine Corps Delta Company 1/26 association.
