“Fiesta hotel, very good”
Reviewed July 3, 2014 via mobile

This hotel is very good, not excellent. About 4.5 stars. Very clean and daily maid service. Its adults only and most of a mature age. Basic Wifi is free although the signal is weak. There is also payable Premium wifi service. Room safes are free. Pool towels have a €20 deposit but to exchange for clean towels is free. €3.30 for large beer and €2.00 for large cola.

Good points : locaton overlooking the cove, direct access to the sea for swimming but you will need shoes as its rocky. Cala Llonga is nice, just enough shops and bars but no discos. Not much for kids. We went on an excursion called Spirit of Ibiza and Cala Llonga or Pontinax are probably the best locations for the Saga generation.

Buffett restaurant is varied by day. Always good. Separate Italian and sushi restaurants which you can use twice during your stay.
Entertainment: usual activies during the day. Staff are not forcefull. Night time Entertainment are very good tribute acts. Seen Take That, Beatles, Abba and Four Tops.

Average points : bar staff are not too quick coming to your table to get your drinks order. Its quicker to go to the bar.

Bad points ; there are two levels of all inclusive which is not identified when you book. When you are here its not clear what you get on the two different levels. There are not enough sun beds for the amount of people staying at the hotel. You need to put your towels out early to guarantee a bed.

Points to note : the hotel only as 8 normal bedrooms facing the sea. There are also 8 delux rooms facing the sea but these need booking a year in advance in the high season. Most rooms are on the two sides and if you are on a high floor you can get a partial view of the sea. Not a bad point, just worth knowing before you book. The suites are located on the back of the hotel so your view will be a hill.

Transport from Cala Llonga : buses go to ibiza town and saint eu. €2.90 one way and about 15 minutes commute. Run hourly on Spanish time ! There are water taxis. Took 30 minutes to go to ibiza town, €10 one way which seems a bit pricy but worth the trip.

Would stay here again next time on holiday in Ibiza.

If it wasnt for the location and being here with my boyfriend I would not be very happy at all.

The staff are pretty unhelpful to say the least. To point out one example..one night we woke at 130am smelling strong burning / smokey smell in our room, so we rang reception concerned. They told us they would look into it. 30+ minutes later we rang them again to see if everything was ok. They just replied yes. They didn't think to come and see us and make sure we were ok. We checked the hallway ourselves all ok and balcony ok too. Only thing we could think of was maybe the air conditioning, which we then switched off.

Sunbeds

Sunbeds were a bit of a nightmare. 600+ rooms I would say approx 1200 guests and not that many sunbeds you really have to fight for them. Meaning get up very early to save some with your towel. And if your really unlucky someone will sneak along remove your towel and steal your chairs leaving you no where to sit.

The location however is stunning. Absolutely beautiful sea and can step right in from the side of the hotel. I just really wish the hotel was run better :(

In response to your review in writing on July 1, I have to say that the Fiesta Hotel Cala Llonga has only 150 rooms, definitely you are talking about another place.

This is a lovely hotel in a nice quiet relaxing location. The rooms are comfortable (go for the full sea view if you can) the food is excellent, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. Isodor and Elisa on reception deserve a special mention, going the extra mile to ensure that our stay was a great one. As mentioned in other reviews, the hotel's location means there are quite a few steps down to the pool and sun terraces, but nothing too strenuous. We never had a problem getting a sunbed, even in the middle of the day, although space around the pool was limited. The Italian restaurant on site was superb and we took full advantage of the opportunity to eat there. Cala Llonga itself is only a five minute walk away and although small has everything you might need. If you do wish to go further afield the local bus services are cheap and efficient, Ibiza town being only a twenty minute ride away. Overall an excellent place to spend some relaxing time (with the added advantage of it being adults only!)

Room Tip: Rooms with a full sea view, rather than a view of the beach, are ideal for those who like sitting on...

We have just returned from another fabulous holiday here, cleanliness superb, and just fabulous and such courteous staff!!especially Jose Marin, eloy,Patricia, and Juani , this must be the one of the hotels greatest assets!.Good choice of food, and the Vista mare restaurant was superb.Entertainment wasn't always to my liking but each to their own!.Was a little more noisier this year at night because we were at the front of the hotel as last year was at the back which we did prefer to be honest.

Room Tip: Any rooms at the rear ...are our preference

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have always booked the superior room. It now has the advantage of a Jacuzzi which is brilliant. The local rep informed us that the hotel was fully booked but she was either deluded or couldn't count as the number of people taking breakfast or dinner was well down on our previous visits. The hotel is beginning to look rather tired. The walls are obviously freshly painted but a lot of the woodwork shows signs of wear and tear. The food although very good is not so varied with meals being repeated especially the soup at dinner time. They cannot cook a decent curry and the balti rice was so overcooked that it was inedible . We always go half board as I feel the upgrade to full board is extortionate. Local shops provide essentials at a really good price. My only real concern was the air conditioning. Although it worked it just was not adequate for the hot temperatures. We have explored extensively around Cal Llonga and have found numerous beautiful walks. It's a pity that the hotel has not capitalised on this by providing copies of the walks. One of the odd things we noted was that since the fire on the nearby mountain about 2 years ago nearly all of the markers that showed public footpaths have been taken down. Why? I felt really sorry for the afternoon entertainer who rarely attracted more than 2 people so why do they continue with this?

Room Tip: Only choose the superior room.

Greetings Patrick T!

Thank you very much for your review. We are very happy that you have chosen us to spend your holydays, and to know that you actually enjoyed our different services as food, beverages, the room and the quality work of our staff.

Regarding to the steps, this lower terrace is placed on the lowest side of the hill, a special location just above the sea, with no other posible access. Otherwise, we have other three seaview terraces with much easier access to our guests.

With best regards, we hope to meet you again soon.

Sorry if this is a little long but I really wanted to cover all the points to give everyone a better understanding of this hotel.
Me and my Husband stayed at this hotel for two weeks end of May beginning of June.
Overall the Hotel is good and would recommend, however there are a few things the hotel is very much lacking.
ROOM:
We originally paid for a twin/double room and upgraded to sea view. Upon arrival that’s exactly what we got and I have to say the view is stunning, I would highly recommend the upgrade. The room itself was a good size, ample room. The beds were two single beds put together and have to say… it was like sleeping on a plank of wood, not comfy in anyway and the pillows provided were just as bad. There is a ‘pillow service’ but be warned this is not cheap, in fact rather expensive, around €6 per night for a half decent pillow.
The bathroom had a nice modern look and the shower was powerful, just what we like. However the room we were in (not too sure if all are the same) the shower area had no barrier to stop the water from flooding the whole bathroom and as the tiles on the floor were not non-slip it became very dangerous.
There is also a drainage issue and we did ask reception if someone can go and have a look at our shower drain/plug hole as there was a bad smell coming from it, the best we got was an automatic air freshener in the bathroom to mask the smell which I have to say I really was not impressed with, very poor.
POOL BAR:
The area around the pool bar is nice, ample room, many chairs and tables both in the sun or in the shade which overlooks the sea.
If you are AI which we were you can get a few snacks from the bar, crisps, peanuts, ice cream, hotdog and olives – not a great range I know, somewhat lacking.
The bar staff are OK but seem to have more mood swings than I ever had with my PMS so just watch out, one minute they will be having a joke with you, the next, giving you dagger eyes and one word answers - this is also the case with the lobby bar in the evening as it’s the same staff serving.
The range of drinks is very good, you can get everything from your tea/coffee to you vodka, rum, beer etc. If you are AI you will have to sign for every drink you order, this can become quite tiresome, you order drinks, wait for the staff to print a receipt and then have to sign on the receipt and put your room number. I really don’t understand why this has to be done as I noticed the bar staff put items on the bill which you never ordered, i.e 4 beers instead of 2 which were ordered, however as the bill was always €0.00 I could not be bothered to ask the reasons for this (staff fiddling we decided) and just signed the bills, but shows this this a pointless act.
LOOBY BAR:
This bar opens after 6.30pm –ish I was ‘ish’ as it can take a long time for the staff to actually arrive and open the bar so sometimes this was well past 6.30pm, same staff serving from the pool bar, they just have different colour shirts on. Again there is a good range of drinks but you cannot get any snacks, this I’m told you can only get them from the pool bar, no flexibility on this, so when the pool bar is shut (timings on this vary sometimes it closed at 6.30pm, other nights 11.30pm) you cannot get any snacks at all – again I think this is somewhat lacking for a hotel.
POOL AREA:
This is a lovely area and has plenty of sun loungers, we never had any trouble finding a lounger and sometimes we would not be down much before midday, still was not a problem plenty of sun loungers available. The pool is nice, seems very clean, the water is nice an warm.
MAIN RESTURANT:
This services breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Overall the food on this restaurant is very good, there is a wide selection of foods, so much so im now 8lbs heavier compared to when I flew out. There is many staff around to take your drinks order and clean your tables etc. However we noticed a few things where the staff were very inflexible.
1. You can only get jam/marmalade etc at breakfast. My husband fancied some toast and marmalade for lunch one afternoon, he could get the toast but when asked for marmalade he was told no… only at breakfast so he cannot have any, would have it been so hard for someone to go and get him a small pot ?!
2. You can only get tea/coffee at breakfast after this they remove all the cups etc and cover the machines over. My Husband asked for a tea at one of the lunch services and he was told no… only at breakfast and if we wanted a tea he would have to go out to the pool bar himself order and bring it back in. Why can’t they just leave the cups and machine on in the restaurant ?! – again no flexibility.
3. On our departure day we were being picked up at 8am so wanted to get down for breakfast as soon as it opened at 7.30am. We went down 10 mins early (did not think this was going to be an issue) but was challenged by the duty manager. He said as we had not booked an early breakfast with reception 2 days earlier we could not go in a few minutes earlier. First off NOWHERE does it say about an early breakfast, if it did I would have booked this and seconded, we were talking about 10 minutes – yet again shows the inflexibility and jobs worth from the staff!
In the restaurant, mainly in the evening they also have show cooking and different theme nights. This is good especially the show cooking as they make your food for you there and then, all very fresh. The theme nights are a little mash mash for example they have an oriental night but serve Chicken Tikka……… that’s Indian in my book.
Me and my Husband went AI but I think there is half/full board options available. We did notice for the people paying for drinks this was not cheap, the bars outside the hotel were cheaper. So we are glad we went AI.
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT:
Not very good overall, but ive never been to a hotel that has goof evening entertainment. They also have afternoon entertainment by the pool bar, some of these are actually better than the acts in the evening.
Overall the hotel was good and we might be back again sometime the only main criticism were to the staff and the inflexible approach they have
