“Excellent value for money”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

Brilliant value for money. Amazing for kids. Plenty to keep them occupied. Lots of different pools including water park. Apartments clean and adequate. Plenty of entertainment. Brilliant kids club. Thanks to Loopy Laura, Chipmonk Chelsea and Kungfoo Keely for keeping Daniel and Jayden happy in the kids club. They had a great time. Jayden is missing Laura already. There is plenty to keep young children occupied. We went to Frankies bar, face painting, balloons, magic and dancing with spongebob. Openair park has trampolines, inflatable whale which closes its mouth and opens. The kids loved this. Go karts. Most of the restaurants had inflatables etc to keep the young kids happy. Definitely a young kids paradise. Also ate at Pirates cove which is down by the beach. Had champagne salmon. Was lovely. There is no so called proper beach which was the only shame but the kids didnt mind. They were happy by the pool. Would definitely recommend this if you have young children as it is safe and plenty for them to do. Wouldnt recommend it for couples. Thanks for a great holiday. We stayed in K block which was quite and near enough to the pools etc. We never had a bad meal or anything to complain about. Thanks to Lucy and Mischief. You did a great job entertaining us through the day.

Room Tip: If you want it quieter ask to be across the road. Ask for ground floor if you have a pram etc.

We were sold this holiday last minute for 3 single friends. We have no complaints about the hotel it was fantastic. Our first room had an issue and we were moved straight away. The rooms were spotless well equipped and cleaned every day with fresh bed linen and towels. The hotel was a great base for our holiday. The food was great and very fresh and reasonable. The hotel staff at reception were very helpful and the bar and restaurant staff were always friendly. We stayed in block T with a lot of people in the same predicament as ourselves, they had no children with them. We never once seen a rep except for when we went looking for one to help us out. No one from the hotel or Thompsons ever came near block T, it was like you didn't count if you didn't have children. I am aware that it's a family resort, but customers are customers. When we did seek help from the reps I have to say they weren't really able to help. They were so polite and kind but didn't or couldn't help. We wanted to go horse riding, we were told it was in the brochure, we wanted to maybe do a cruise, again it was in the brochure, we asked where would be a good place to go out at night and received the response it depends on what you like. We just felt the staff were trained to help families not Single people, which I don't think was fair since we bought the holiday direct from Thompsons and paid as much as everyone else. Another problem which again was due to lack of staff management was the reservation of sun beds. People reserving beds from the night before and not turning up to lunch time, leaving people unable to use sun beds. There were signs up but no body monitored it. We also didn't enjoy being woke every morning at 7 by the gardeners. The negatives were things that we were able to manage, but we just felt really let down by the reps. The hotel is ideal for families and as a base for a group of friends but not for a mad drinking holiday.

The apartments are spacious and clean. Would be lovely with air con as you could close the windows to keep out the noise. People screeching in the pool at 2.30am, bin men at 5.30 every morning and then younger children on the play park from 7.30am. Not very restful! The entertainment staff however do a good job if you like the whole joining in thing.

Back yesterday from 10 nights at the Talayot apartments. Travelled with my husband and two little girls (aged three and one). Stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was more than adequate, just turned the sofas into a double bed in the evening by removing the cushions, putting on sheets and joining them together. I agree with all of the positive reviews here. The accommodation is basic but adequate and spotlessly clean with towels and sheets changed regularly. The reception staff were incredibly helpful. You are able to hire beach towels from reception for a small deposit of €5 and a passport and are able to change them frequently. The Thomson reps were amazing. We are not ones for pool side entertainment and there are various negative reviews on here about this point. I find this strange as there are six outdoor pools to choose from so if you're unhappy with the music/chit-chat round the main pool all you need to do is get up and choose from five other quieter ones. The area around the resort is suffering in terms of some run down buildings and closed shops/restaurants which is a shame but there is still plenty of choice. They do very much cater for British tourists who like home comforts, fried breakfasts, roast dinners and such like but there are plenty of other authentic dishes to enjoy if that's what you prefer. All of the restaurants have soft play areas/bouncy castle/trampolines/swings, our favourite Cuore had all of the above so our three year old was in her element. Every night there's Lets get Loud which is a mini disco with dancing, games and competitions. Again our three year old loved this. The Kids Club was fantastic, well-organised and staffed by very professional, lovely young girls. I wouldn't go to this resort if I was child-free but for families with little ones its fantastic. Pony riding every Sunday and go-karts on site which were particularly good value. We thought the cost of the safe which was €2.50 per day was excessive, but that was our only negative. I have never travelled with Thomsons before or gone to this type of resort but will probably book again for next year. The reps are wonderful and I was very impressed with the whole package. You very much pay for what you get and for a mid-price family break in the sun this was perfect.

Room Tip: We were in T29 which was a block away from the main pool with its own quieter pool. Perfect for us a...

Firstly i would like to say what a fab holiday we had with our 10 year old son....

the entertainment was good, aqua fit most days in the pool and various activities to keep you busy.

thanks to the family who 'stole' the air-hockey paddles so we couldn't play them.... my son went down there at 10 am and they still weren't out... very selfish of you so you could party all night and sleep all day...if you dont want to stay on a noisy family resort then go somewhere else.

Frankies is a great place to eat and Chloe the entertainer was just great.... Jimmy hills on the shopping square, and The Usual Place are 2 more great bars/food places.

Looking at booking for 2 weeks next year.

So we have just got back! It was our second visit in two years. The reception area has been refurbished and an indoor pool has been added. It looks lovely but you have to pay to use it, so didn't other with that!

This year we stayed in D8. Lovely spacious two bedroom apartment (much bigger than those in P block) the only issue we had this year was the noise. The air hockey table right outside of the twin bedroom needs to be removed! After 2 sleepless nights and early air hockey wake up calls, we resorted to bringing the air hockey paddles in to our apartment at 11pm till when we woke in the morning. This made in a bit better. The trouble was the noise from the play area, terrible, until one or two in the morning! The hotel have put signs up stating that the play area should not be used after 10pm. This is a good start but there is no one to enforce these rules. So it seems that no one bothers to follow them!

Okay, I have finished with the negatives. The two hotel receptionists speak amazing English and are more than happy to help. Gillian behind the bar is lovely, as are all of the staff to be honest! Can I just say that the Thomson team at this hotel are the best I have ever seen! They joined in with the fun and got people involved. Lucy and Georgia are amazing, they were full of energy and great with the children. They tried to involve everyone with out forcing anyone to move from their sun beds, which was brill. Girls, you really are lovely, thank you x

We ate at Frankie's mostly and my niece, Gracie, loved Chloe, the entertainer! Chloe you are so talented- face painting, balloon animals, magic shows, awesome! Thank you

All in all a great holiday but I really do think that the Talayot need some security or something to keep the peace at night.

We are just back from a week at Talayot with our 2 girls 10 and 7. I can concur with both the good and bad reviews on this place oddly enough. We stayed in block M which was a lot quieter than the main blocks. Apartment was fine...could've been cleaner but I always clean a place myself anyway. Pool was good...lack of sunbeds a problem but less so after first few days. Kids only went to chocolate party in the kids club as they were addicted to the pool. Resort was very English. ..far too much Sky sports and chips. A bit rundown but then Spain's economy is in trouble.
Spent some time in nearby Ciutadella which is gorgeous. ..more like the holidays I love.
In conclusion this is a good place for sun and kids. ..but I'll be camping in France next year...not my thing.
