hotel was very nice staff were so so think menu could have had a bit more variation i was surprised did not have tea brewing facilities in room. The hotel had a strange policy of not allowing you to have a bottle of water from the bar before 9pm if you were all inclusive

Room Tip: corner rooms are better as the have only one adjacent

On first entering the hotel,it appears secluded and quiet which is dead right,it's very close to the airport so transfers should be short. It's an extremely quiet location shared with the apartments. On asking about a sea view I was informed that it's an extra 7 euros/day,and was then promptly told that they were limited anyway,so don't get your hopes up. Check in was painless, and efficient, with two electronic key cards issued including your photo. The reception decor is a tad dated but spotlessly clean........full credit to the cleaning Staff.

The room is light and airy, and cleaned every day, and everything worked, not sure about the central A/C the fan worked but it may have still been shutdown for Winter. No iron or hot drink facilities, the usual Sky & BBC news on the telly with dubbed US shows. There is the usual two single beds pushed together with extremely hard, unforgiving mattress's which aren't conducive to a good nights sleep.

The pool areas are very nice, with duty life-guards, but we prefered the apartments pool, and you are allowed to use these facilities. It's a short 20 minute walk along the coastal path to San Blas which has bars and restaurants, and gift shops. The Hotel provides a free bus service into Los Chritianos/Playa America, and back, three times daily, except for Saturdays. It takes approx 20 minutes

Fully inclusive is from 1100am to 2300pm daily. The Bar Staff are polite and helpful, the nightly entertainment is spoiled however by eight huge pillars which obscure the view from all areas except from directly in front of the stage. The bar decor is dated but extremely clean, you could eat your dinner off the highly polished marble floors as the Cleaning Staff again do a tremendous job of keeping the hotel areas and accommodation gleaming.

The food provided is of a very high standard plentiful and varied,if you can't find something to eat then they don't make it..................only gripe was that the food wasn't always at the best temperature, and the hot drinks from the vending machines aren't that good. There are two a la carte restaurants on site with a 3 euros surcharge,Argentinian and Chinese, drinks are extra.

Package flights both departing and arriving overfly in close proximity to the Hotel, which could be a problem at peak times. But all in all a very pleasant stay for a bit of Winter sunshine which I would definitely use again. And only a handful of our Eastern Block Comrades which was a definite bonus! It's a FRAM Hotel so there are a lot of very nice older French Guests staying in the Hotel.

Room Tip: On arrival enquried about a sea-view, was told that would be an extra 7 euros/day. It must have look...

Didn't know what to make of this hotel as it's an amalgam of apartments adjoined to an hotel. The hotel was very quiet with only about 50 guests at the time we arrived. We had requested a high floor with a sea view but was allocated a low floor (ground floor) with a street view - thought it wouldn't be a problem changing rooms with so few guests, but apparently it was -not the best start to a holiday. Due to it's strange shape (semi circular) it had a very clinical feel to it, especially the bedrooms that had an almost austere quality. The restaurant had no atmosphere with piped music playing which must have dated back to hotel construction days! The hotel is advertised as 'all inclusive' - it is not. It is full board with an added limited drinks option. No food, apart from cake and nuts is available between lunch and dinner, and 'all inclusive' drinks are very limited at mealtimes also. Entertainment was poor, as is common in many Spanish hotels. On the plus side, there was a good selection of food but was found to be be quite repetitive. The hotel was very clean and the maids were thorough in their work. Most of the hotel staff were friendly. Most of the clientele were predominantly French, with a small number of Belgians and Germans. There is also a Saga bar where large numbers of Saga members congregated daily. It is a quiet area (apart from the planes landing and taking off at the airport approx. 4 miles away!) but there are some beautiful coastal walks. In summary, we found this to be a very basic hotel with limited options and facilities and not of the quality a 4 star hotel should be (we have been to many). It has many returning customers, but I am not sure why.

From arrival to departure we have no complaints about the Aguamarina Golf Hotel, yes there are a few signs of wear and tear but if thats what you go away for to look for the niggles then why bother, most hotels need continuos repairs and decorating, after all they are in continuous use.
Our room was very comfortable, with a lovely view and always plenty of hot water, only niggle was we found the beds a little hard, but then there's nothing like your own bed.
Food, well certainly no compaints there, we went half board, the breakfasts are amazing with everything you can want, the dinners were the same, always plenty of choice, even for the most fussy diner.
The hotel is kept immaculately clean, the cleaners and maids are always around cleaning. The pool area is kept immaculate too and there are no early morning scrambles for the sunbeds, with plenty to go round.
It's not often we would return to the same hotel but the Aguamarina we certainly would.
Ignore the negative reviews, we did and were so glad we did !!!!!!!

Room Tip: We had a poolside/sea view room and was very pleased with it

Firstly, we are a family of four with two children, one aged 4 years and the other 4 months. We wanted somewhere which would not be full of 18-30 holiday types - not that we have anything against them (we used to be them!) but we wanted peace and quiet so that the children could sleep. Golf Del Sur is exactly what we wanted - close enough to the motorway so that driving to the attractions and busier resorts was easy, but off the beaten track enough, at least at our hotel, so that it was never too busy or noisy. The hotel was quiet too - mostly - although there were noises when guests left in the middle of the night but you would get this at any hotel. We could hear aircraft noise but not loudly - it will only irritate you if you normally get irritated by such things!

It takes 10 minutes to drive from the airport.

The hotel staff are darlings, including the reception staff. The concierges were extremely helpful, especially lovely Carmen, and they made such a fuss of our little girls. The waiting staff were fabulous too, especially Alessi, and we made sure we left a tip for them every night as they worked so hard to keep everyone happy. Rooms were spotless and the maids went the extra mile, arranging bedtime toys and folding nightwear - little touches which really made me smile.

Our room (368) was very large, with twin beds pushed together, a sofabed for the 4 year old, and a travel cot. Beds were firm but comfy. Plenty of wardrobe space, lovely balcony with FANTASTIC view of the harbour and out to sea - i watched the sunrise one morning which was fab. The bathroom is enormous with twin basins and a separate toilet/bidet area. Shower was lovely, good temparature and pressure. Plenty of very hot water. It's all basic and unfussy but perfectly fine for a base - we didn't want to spend hours in a hotel room.

We were on half-board so had breakfast and evening meal. So much food on offer, lovely salads, plenty of fish and meat, every type of breakfast. So many puddings, really lovely ones! I put on weight.....! We never needed to microwave anything as it was plenty warm enough but there is a microwave if needed.

The pools are VERY cold at this time of year but they were lovely and clean, and there was a hot tub which we could warm up in. The indoor pool is in the gym and it was much colder that I was expecting (it was supposed to be heated) and is too deep for anyone who can't swim well as it was 1.5 meters all over (at 5'2" I couldn't touch the floor!) but once I got in it was a lovely pool to swim some lengths in. There are pool tables and crazy golf, and putting green too. There is a nice childrens playground too.

About 3 minutes' walk away is a brilliant Irish Bar called The Wild Geese where we were made very welcome. Lovely place, great staff, warm atmosphere. There is a little mini market next door for essentials (some things are VERY expensive though so be careful) and then a few restaurants and souvenir shops. A steepish walkway leads down to the front where there are some lovely restaurants looking out to sea, and a small, black sand beach. We had a few lunches at Marina II - the Canarian Paella was to die for. The beach was fine for our little girl to make black sandcastles and if the sea had been warmer it would have been fine to swim here too, though not too far out.

It takes 5 minutes to drive to the nearest supermarket (Mercadona) and 15 minutes-ish to drive to Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas, Aqualand, Siam Park etc. We got the hotel bus to Los Cristianos on the first day which was clean, quick and free - very good.

The only park we went to was Aqualand which we all loved - lots of water slides and a brilliant heated pool with bubble jets which we spent a lot of time in. We went back twice as you can pay 8 euros per adult to return within 10 days, so it cost us 66 euros for two days altogether.

I haven't given it an excellent rating purely because the rooms are basic and the entertainment was not really up to much, but this didn't detract from our holiday at all. It might if you want to spend a lot of time in the hotel, but we wanted to get out and about anyway.

We would certainly go back here and would recommend it to most people - but not if you are looking for vibrant nightlife because it is just not that type of resort!!

Room Tip: Room 368 had a beatiful view of the sea, was far enough away from the lift areas to be quiet, and wa...

First impressions ok but decor needs bringing up to date. Hotel spotlessly clean due to the very hard working and obliging maids and maintenance staff. Checkin smooth no initial problems.Rooms spotless but dated decor ,all our facilities working fine but no ironing facility or kettle available. Room serviced every day clean towels daily our maid was exceptionally kind friendly and always happy to assist. Requested double but got twin beds pushed together and yes they are firm. Tv facilities need bringing up to date only English channels are bbc news and sky news. Grounds immaculate extremely well maintained gardens. Food acceptable could always find something we liked but lunch and dinner too similar ventured out several evenings to lovely little restaurant around the corner for great steaks, fish and speciality crepes. However Coffee in hotel comes from vending machines and it stinks literally we sensed a fishy wiff and tasted nothing like real coffee. Drank water for most of the week. No snacks available between meals if you miss breakfast you have to wait until 11am for all inclusive drinks or 1pm for lunch. Waiting staff polite and friendly . Entertainment definitely geared for the Saga group witnessed kids club having a great time but geared towards French. Wifi must be paid for so go to Irish bar where its FREE. Courtesy bus to Playas and Christianos slick efficient and on time.
We were staying during the recent stormy weather which caused chaos across Tenerife. There were sunbeds thrown everywhere, umbrellas ripped up and gravel and leaves blasted on balconies and in the pool after one particularly bad night. We had no problems other than grit on the balcony from plant pots but others staying reported water ingress and lost electricity supply. The cleaners and maintenance staff were exceptional cleaning up
Immediately. It was disappointing to see a senior female member of staff stomping across the terrace screaming at them like a banshee when they were doing their best perhaps she should have rolled up her sleeves and helped instead of flouncing around full of her own self importance. This seems to be a familiar trait particularly amongst senior female staff members who never seemed to do much work just looking down their noses at the very staff they could learn a few lessons in politeness and customer service from.
Reception staff ok on routine checkin but dont ask them to help with anything else as "computer says NO". We had a problem with our transfer pick up and requested assistance to sort the problem out hoping a spanish speaking receptionist would be able to clarify the correct pick up details with the local taxi service but we were told to go away and call them ourselves even though we were willing to pay for any calls necessary. We asked politely twice but were met with a stone faced no, not willing to make any effort to Help you. Customer service zero some retraining needed to raise standard to 4star here .
Overall had a good time shame reception staff and female management are aloof and not very customer service orientated. Wont be going to this hotel again.

We arrived at 2-30am and were led away from the main hotel to a ground floor apartment in the grounds. The porter abandoned us at the gate and in the pitch dark left to find the slot for the keycard to operate the lights.
The room was awful. Only two very dim wall lights opposite the beds,no lights above or at the side of the beds making reading impossible. The beds themselves were shocking. Two identical twin beds put side by side were three inches shorter than the other due to the springs in one mattress being ruined. The bed for my four year old was made of wicker and hat a mattress no thicker than a couple of inches, it was like lying on bricks.
The fridge didn't work, the windows had no provision to open and there was a huge damp patch on the ceiling.
I immediately returned to reception and asked for another room. I was told this wasn't possible at 2-30am, but if I returned first thing in the morning I would be moved.
It took three more visits to the reception before at 1-30pm almost twelve hours after arriving, I eventually got another room.
The second room on the surface looked better, so we eventually got to unpack.
We then discovered the shower was broken and hanging off the wall. You could clearly see it had previously been crudely repaired. My wife decided to then take a bath while I reported the broken shower.
Whilst at reception reporting the fault I inquired about the kids club and mini disco (the only reason we booked this hotel) I was told both only run during the high season. Yet there is no mention of this on the hotel's website or other websites the hotel appears on.
When I got back to my room I cut myself badly on the door which moved an inch and a half every time you opened and closed it. When I entered I found my four year old had grazed her leg badly on ragged metal on the sofa bed provided for her. My wife was now ankle deep from water gushing up from the drain in the bathroom floor. Despite the flooding of our room and the hotel lobby it was over an hour before someone came to our aid.
Not once were we ever apologized to for any of the above.
We had booked to stay here for fourteen nights. We left after just thirty six hours!!!
