Hotel very clean and daily room service excellent.Food very good although a little repetative after 2 weeks! French owned hotel and the entertainment team were only interested in the French guests. English people weren't acknowledged at all especially the children. We used the pool at the neighbouring appartments which was bigger and more English people went there as the terrace at the hotel pool got very crowded. Entertainment in the hotel was average, the singer provided more laughs than I think was intended!! Resort very quiet but a courtesy bus to neighbouring towns will get you out and about if needed.

Room Tip: We requested pool view but were in room overlooking harbour. Very quiet room and larger than those i...

We stayed at Aguamarina golf de sur last July. For the all inclusive you got given a card which was also your room key, and you had to hand it in, the bad thing was it was only one drink per card, if you wanted two drinks you had to take two different cards,The service was appauling, the staff slams down your drinks and walks off without a peep! The tables were made of chipboard. I got a bannana from the fruit table, to find vermin in them, it was also in the salad!
The rooms were so-so, apart from the fact that ,the air conditioning was dreadful! you could not feel anything! especially at this time of year YOU NEED IT! One good thing about this hotel, is that it is a small walk away from the marina! I would NOT reccomend this hotel for the british. The kids club was always led by a french adult, and they obviously only wanted to do activities with the french children. The entertainment was all french too. The french were treated better i.e they were gretted with complimentery drinks, and the entertainment staff gave them a full run through of the whole hotel etc. however the british did not. This hotel does not deserve 4 stars. It deserves 2 at the most. I would NOT reccomend.

Room Tip: take your own fan.

It is in the middle of nowhere, food boring and non tasting, forget 4* all inclusive, ask for a bottle of water before 11am,you think it would be easier to find Gaddafi! It caters for the French and the French only, all the games team speak French, you play French Boules and God forbid when us Brits beat them, they sulk. The pool is seawater and cold and not as big as the picture suggests. We had to carry a stupid card with us to get the All Inclusive, and for some reason, every barman took it off you to enter on the till, so you can imagine the Q's to get a drink, plus the state of the card. The evening entertainment was very, very poor.
Do not expect 4*............do not go.

Room Tip: do not get first floor numbers 119-125-right above the raucous evening entertainment.

Good points, room size and general cleanliness.
Bad points, rude staff, lack of service especially if you are English . Strict deadlines on times for all inclusive, anything other than the local ( watered down) drinks is a supplement. A la carte restaurant has to be booked 2 days in advance. 18 km from playa and on the flightpath to the airport. Free shuttle bus always full. Don't get Ill no first aid box or any first aider
Did us as a break but would not stay again

We stayed in the Aguamarina for a week all inclusive and it was excellent value for money. Travelling with our 8 year old and 4 year old we were allocated a family room with the main bedroom on a mezzanine floor above the lounge reached using a spiral staircase absolutley fine, plenty of wardrobe space and very clean.
The pool was very busy in the main and as with every holiday better to put your towels out ! got very very busy at the weekend as i think there must have been weekend stays coming in but in the week you could find a bed no problem, we used the terrace up by the kids pools which was fine. Pools are salt water and fine to swim in. Very few pools in the canaries are heated and with the gorgeous sun shining this was not a problem. The plunge pool by the beach was not open and this was a real shame as it was a lovely spot by the rocky beach.
Food was fine, yes the normal salads, chips, pizza for lunch and a lot of pork dishes, in the evening there was enough variety for us for a week. Hot enough as well. Couple of gripes - the chef at the hot plate could not make enough food to keep up, particularly pancakes in the morning, when the hotel is predominantly french this does cause a problem. The other being the the air conditioning in the restaurant needs cranking up somethimes the heat was uncomfortable no matter which meal or where you sat in the restaurant it was very sticky and puts you off eating your meal.
Didnt bother with the entertainment team, they were not in your face and did their own thing with people who wanted to participate. Some people we met at the hotel used the kids club and said it was fine, no language barriers or not involving the english !.

Golf Del Sur i would say is a growing resort, enough restaurants to get by and a couple of bars and supermarkets. The shopping centre is a walk away (about 20 mins) and not much there, we also used the coastal path to walk to Los Ambrigos which is the town you can see on the headland, nothing there at all other than houses and a couple of old locals bars but a lovely scenic walk and we found a beach on the way right near the town.
Would probably return as its away from the masses and found it quite relaxing should i be suprised about the moans about the hotel, resort etc NO if people want absolute perfection go 5 star of 5 star + rather than expecting too much !

1 tip is do not go to this hotel unless you are either A) French B) mad !!! we have come back today after spending 2 weeks in this hotel that we were sold as a family resort and ideal for a young family, We have a 13 year old and a 6 year old and i can assure you unless you are French ( because this is a french hotel which we WAS NOT TOLD ) there is absolutely nothing to for them to do!! the kids clubs are run by the french! the entertainment is run by the french and they are rude to you all the time to the point when a rep actually asked us to join in and we said no thanks he sneered oh your english?? so sorry! The pool is saltwater there is only 1 pub which is a 2 min walk from the hotel but the next nearest one is 20 mins walk away in san blas! the staff are rude except for the barstaff that are friendly but they are so overworked as there is only 1 bar in the hotel on a nightime that all i heard wasgrowing frustrations within the 3 deep bar all night!! i would never recomend the area golf del sur to anyone as it is dead! 1 bar and about 5 restaurants within a 20 minute walk does not constitute a family resort to me!! The only reason i have given 2 stars is that the food of a lunchtime and evening was good to sometimes excellent quality whilst we was there but breakfast ( unless you like croissants etc. ) was a no no!! pleasae please pay that little extra and go to Los Christianos because we ended up spending a fortune for 2 weeks going there to keep the kids entertained it would of been cheaper to pay the extra to stay there and have it all on your doorstep!!

Room Tip: the best room is about a 30 min taxi ride away in Los Christianos!!
