Just back from a week long stay, we had an excellent time, the hotel is lovely and quiet, clean with everything we needed(apart from a kettle!) seriously I can't believe so many people have commented on this - use a saucepan for goodness sake!
The apartments are very large, a well equipped kitchen and large sitting area, big bedroom and large balcony with 2 patio doors off the bedroom and sitting areas. Bathroom is also large.
We usually go s/c but having read reviews here went B&B, this was a good idea as there is so much choice and selection for breakfast. Everything from a cooked breakfast freshly made by a delightful lady who worked every morning during our visit. She was very welcoming despite not speaking English and always greeted us as friends from the first day. We were stuffed every day and it filled up up to supper time.
The staff were always friendly and helpful in all the areas.
There is a free bus three times a day to Las Americas and Christianos that we went on.
The resort is very quiet, although on the fight path to the airport there was very little noise.
Eating out there's a pleasant walk to San Blas shopping centre with lots of bars, resturants and a larger supermarket.
Overall I would say that if you can see past not having a kettle then you'll enjoy your holiday.

We stayed here for 5 nights, the apartments were big, bright and spacious. They were very quiet and our apartment haf fantastic sea views. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very clean. Pool area was lovely, limited sunbeds but balcony's are huge so can sunbathe there no problem......plenty of nice places to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner.......stick to the restaurants at the seafront as I went for snack in Bistro 27 along the road from the apartments and ended up in hospital on a drip after taking a bad reaction to a tuna sandwich which obviously hadnt been stored or prepared properly.......very expensive sandwich as I had to pay 250 pounds towards medical bills!!!.......this was the last day of our holiday and spoiled what would have been a perfect break as my husband never got to play his round of golf for his 40th birthday (the readon for the trip) :(

If you have high demands I'd suggest you don't 'go economy', as you will usually be disappointed. We wanted a cheap, quiet holiday in the sun; sitting by the pool reading, listening to the waves hit the beach, eating out at good restaurants, returning to a clean room with everything we needed. That's what we got. This place was perfect.
It's worth remembering you are going to Spain. They do not and should not cater for the British or any other nationality. I'm sad that there not being a kettle is counting against this place in so many reviews. You have been warned many times Tea Drinkers; either bring a kettle, boil a pan of water as suggested or drink coffee!
Other quibbles - paying for a safe? I'd expect any hotel abroad in this range to charge for the safe. You do get the air conditioning for free and can set it as cold or as warm as you like, which is unusual. You do have to pay for WiFi but this seems usual too. You can get free WiFi at the Irish bar as mentioned before.
The word 'tired' to describe the decor doesn't really do the place justice. Our room was perfectly fine, well designed and very clean. It's great to have such a spacious lounge, separate bedroom and big balcony. We ran around the place when we arrived as there was so much space. We slept well too. The beds were firm but not overly so. We didn't have any insects, mould, etc so maybe the 5th floor is the place to be.
The staff were very friendly, without exception. We had breakfast once in the restaurant. There was plenty of choice and the pancake lady was very much in demand. The reason we didn't go back was that it was much cheaper in the surrounding cafes.
The pool area is lovely and if you get up early enough you get to see the scurry of British folk doing the sunbed walk, trying not to look too guilty as they rest several towels over the beds. No German people were witnessed doing this by the way! The stereotype is broken. We usually got to the pool around 9am and got a sunbed. The pool is heated. Compared to other salt/sea water pools it is very warm.
The cleaners are lovely and give everything a once over most days. Leave them a tip, they work very hard.
We had some lovely meals although the worst was at the bistro - very overcooked steak, described as sirloin but really rump. Most disappointed, so we didn't go back. We enjoyed the tapas bar, the mexican on the left as you hit the beach and the mussels starter in the restaurant on the right on the beach was the most gorgeous thing we had there. We wanted to try the sushi place but ran out of time. So much choice.
I think if you aren't too fussy, want a quiet holiday and remember you aren't paying a fortune, you'll love this place.

Nice location, spoilt by several things that the hotel could put right but are not bothered to do so. NO Iron anywhere on the complex. NO toaster. No kettle. TV poor quality cannot get English programmes of any quality. Beds hard the worst I have ever experiences anywhere, forget a good night sleep, mattress covered with a plastic material that wakes up your partner every time you turn. Towels provided most poor quality, some falling apart. no cleaning material, not even a dish cloth. apartment tired, chrome has come off all the fittings. charge for everything even a safe, and wi fi.. Apart from that , food okay, cannot fault the maid service.

Room Tip: try to get a room on the firth floor

Although this is an excellent resort for its overall facilities ( you can use the hotel adjoining as well) the pool area is superb but there are not enough mattresses to go round so folks were getting up at first light to secure a spot with a mattress! The apartments are certainly very spacious with huge balconies & we were lucky enough to have a brilliant sea & marina view, they are however very tired and need a serious make over - well worth taking a travel kettle with you
for convenience. If you are British ignore the claim of satellite TV which is non existent except for CNN, Sky News, and World News which are the equivalent of our old terrestrial channels with poor reception. Personally I cannot understand why with so many UK visitors every year this point hasn't been addressed especially as you get older and find the evening entertainment around & about starts & ends far too late. Cleanliness around the resort however is second to none and the staff friendly & helpful - a special mention goes to receptionist Ludi . The restaurant is good value if a little repetitive so we wouldn't recommend half board as there is plenty of choice in nearby eateries for a change of diet.. Although there is a courtesy bus into Los Cristianos and Los Americas you should hire a car if you want the freedom to travel around.
Would we come back? Quite possibly because the pro's do at least outweigh the con's.

Room Tip: Given a choice get an elevated room which will be quieter with the best views. From our experience...

Returned Mon Nov 4th after a weeks stay.. I simpy cant understand all the bad reviews?? Unless you're expecting a 5 star plus this is exceptional value and the location is stunning and central. We found the apartment roomy for two, v v clean( cleaners work 6 days week , 8 hrs days!!)modern, and well equipped. V odd as others have said no kettle but hey it cost us £8 to buy one which we can use in future. We would definate return to these lovely apartments. We had room 202 which overlooked the marina and costal path to san blas. We stayed at the Vincci in San Blas last year which put us off all inculsive in Golf. You dont need it as far too many lovely affordable restuarants at basic range, mid and high end. We mainly ate in bistro 27 Winter Gardens, wonderful staff and v quick service. we alos had a lovely meal at Rendevous which is part of the bowling club opposite the bistro, just climb the stairs to a UK run v friendly place. Another great find is El Nautical bar along the costal path to San Blas.. the best breakfast bar non, lively place set steep so you can enjoy the beautiful views to the sound of bob marley ..wonderful.. Evening wise the irish bar opp these apartments is great for familes.. a tad too '' weatherspoons'' for us but cant complain on service and prices for meals. Bistro 27 does a euro a pint betw 9-6!! we went back to San Blas and was v disspointed.. what a change in 12 months!! expensive, lack lustre and the normal friendly cheery lady singer was de flated , boring and repetitive, most bars were not even half full because of the high prices... be warned!! Overall we would definate recommend these apartments.. so much so.. I shed a tear on departure!!

Room Tip: any 2nd level room will give you a perect marina view and your v near to the pool avoid going B and...

Firstly, dont let the 'poor food' part put you off - maybe just consider only going B&B or SC and you'll be more than happy! You can also pay each day if you want lunch or dinner - so view before you buy to check there is something that you like. We always found something that we liked, but more fussy eaters may struggle with the limited selections.

The apartments themselves are HUGE and represent excellent value for money. We traveled as a couple (plus baby bump) but in truth you could have slept 4 and had room to play with. We were out most of the time but the kitchen area was substantial and adequately equipped should people rely on it. The double balcony was lovely, rooms spotless, bathroom large and clean, and pools/games/public areas perfect.

Golf Del Sur itself is quiet, but the bus to Los Christianos is over the road, and takes about 10-15 mins (couldnt be easier). The limited restaurants and bars generally offer food and drinks that are below the costs of other parts of the island.

If you are looking for a cheap holiday base, close to the airport, with fantastic pool and clean spacious rooms then give this serious consideration.

Room Tip: Facing the pool
