“Beware the oldies”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2012

Excellent hotel, we stayed over half term b&b. First room we had was 308 which was next door to the cleaners room... Big mistake at 7am the cleaner starts work and you are awake banging of metal buckets and I'm sure she must have size 10 feet with high heels... When I complained at reception they said they would tell her to keep quiet, so we gave them a chance. But the next morning was just as bad, they moved us to a great room with a superb view. The breakfast is excellent anything you want, entertaining watching the oldies stealing fruit and bread, and belive me there are masses of them (oldies I mean) I'm mid forties but I felt a mere youngster here, coming back to the hotel of an evening you can be made to feel rather uncomfortable as you walk in as the oldies sit in the same seat each evening and watch you walk in. We only stayed in the bar one evening, as all the others there was no seats available.
Don't let this put you off if you have already booked, also once the winter is over there will probably more families.
The hotel has several sports going on which is good, we played football, tennis, badminton, basket ball and table tennis, but a car is really needed due to the location of the hotel. The hotel offers a free bus to Las Americas and Los Cristianos, but we never tried this.
If you are a family and/or under 65, I would book elsewhere during winter months.

Room Tip: dont stay in 208,308,408 or 508 stay in 301,401 or 501

We needed a bed for the night close to the airport as we had an early flight and were staying in the North. This was great value for £30.00 for the one night! It was easy to find- though we got there in the dark it was well signposted once off the dual- carriageway main road.
The receptionist was friendly and spoke good English. The apartment was very spacious, the kitchen area well equipped and with a large fridge freezer, microwave etc. The bedroom and bed were very large - we found the bed too hard, but some people prefer that.
The reception is open 24 hours, and they woke us at 4am as requested, it was only a ten minute drive to the airport.
We thought that this would be an excellent place to spend much more time, especially for a family holiday, because there was a generous amount of space and it was well designed.

Room Tip: There seemed to be a lot of them, it was not at all full at this time of year.

We spent a week on b&b basis in an apartment which overlooked the marina and were impressed by the standards. The apartment was spacious and the maid service was excellent. We ate breakfast in the adjoining hotel and the quality of the food was high. There is an in-house laundrette and poolside cafe, both offering value for money. The pool and terrace were the best features : never crowded and well-laid out.

We have just returned from Tenerife following a 3 weeks holiday on half board. These apartments are very spacious, very clean and comfortable. We had a lovely view of the sea and marina and a double size balcony. A quiet area with lovely walks to neighbouring coastal villages. There was a huge choice of food at every meal. The main course at dinner was sometimes disappointing but there was always food being cooked fresh on the griddle and a roast of some kind. No frills but honest to goodness value for money. We went to Las Americas one day and were glad to get back to San Miguel; it was just like Blackpool in August. We didn't have any tummy upsets in all the time we were there and that counts for a lot. Its on our agenda to go again next year but for a month.

Room Tip: AAll rooms have sea views but some are better than others. The ones nearest the sea are best at the...

We spent two weeks in December electing to go half board the food was not good in the main restaurant it was always cold even if you were down first sitting. The Argentine restaurant was only open two nights per week and the food was lovely as was the service the waiter was first class. It was a shame that the menu did not change.
The apartment was quite drab and the furniture was like basket weave with a cover over it and not at all comfortable. Self-catering would not have been possible as the apartment did not even have a kettle or toaster it was poorly equipped. Full marks to the cleaning staff as they kept the apartment spotless.
Worth a mention we did get the second week at a reduced rate having agreed to take a tour of the property and agreed to give our opinion on the resort (we specially asked was this a sales push for selling time share and we were told it was not. We spent five hours with someone from Future Resorts Marketing and sorry to say that this a form of selling time share and we found the rep very pushy and also quite offensive. We spoke with a number of couples who had experienced the same treatment some even worse than what we had and we all vouched never again it totally spoiled our holiday.
Would we pay a return visit to this resort Never.

Just got back from a week here; we came home on 4th Feb. The public areas of the hotel are excellent with a superb pool and an astroturfed terrace that looks out to sea. The rooms are a little tired but perfectly fine ... we stayed in room 327 which was on the floor above the Volare nightclub - it wasn't too noisy apart from on the Saturday night, but it may be a bit louder if you are in rooms 328, 329 or 330 as they are directly over the club. If you are a light sleeper you should be fine on a higher floor, but the music does go on until about 2am although it didn't keep us awake. The sofas in the room are a bit odd as they are covered in sheets - we asked for proper cushions but it seems that this is the case in all rooms. There was no kettle in the room but there are saucepans so we used this with a frying pan as the lid to speed up the boiling process. You can hire a TV remote for a £10 deposit and a safe costs £24 although you do get £10 of this back too. The TV had SKY news, true movies and CBS reality as the English Channels. If you press the TV/AV button on the remote and select DV-R you can also find more Spanish Channels including one called NEOX which shows some undubbed american sitcoms ... handy if you need a break from all the serious channels.

The resort itself was very cheap - there is a pub called the Wild Geese opposite which does excellent food as does Bistro 27 and the chinese on the main street. I would also recommend the Aberdeen Steak House on the way to San Blas. All the restaurants did 3 course menus for between £8-£9 which included very good steaks. We had lunch at the hotel bar and the food there was also good and reasonably priced.

The resort itself is very quiet with a couple of supermarkets and a couple of shops but you can get the 470 Titsa bus from the road behind the pub to Las Americas and Los Cristianos if you want a bit more life.

You can use the facilities in the sister hotel if you want to play tennis, boule or volleball or have use of the animation team if you have kids.

Overall we had a really great time both at the hotel and resort and will definately be returning.

we have just got back from these appartments ,we sayed for a week .The appartments are very spacious and very clean .We sayed in room 103 on the ground floor which had a sea view (i think most have ) its great for the mid day sun on the balcony .We loved having the extra space going self catering .You are a bit limited to what you can cook as there is only a microwave and a 2 ring electric hob .This didnt bother us as we wanted to eat out most nights anyway .We took our own travel kettle and toaster just to make life a little easier .The appartments are only a 10 - 15 min drive from the airport which was great .The area I think is fairly new ,obviously a few golf couses scattered about .For us it was a little too quite in the day time for things to do as there isnt really much of a beach there .You really have to travel to Christianos or Americas for more choice of bars and cafes etc .The Hotel runs a free bus to these 3 times a day ,but book up as early so you can get a seat .Eating out - we ate at the chinese on the harbour front which was ok (nothing special ) the Aberdeen steak house about half amile up the road ,good if you want a cheap meal ,I quite liked the food for the money ,but other half wasnt impressed .The best place for us by a mile was the Tapas and Chill which is at the side of the apprtments ,we loved it so much we went there 3 nights on the trot ,service was A1 and the food was the tastiest I have had in a long time ,deff reccomend the Pork in a cream and port sauce if you go there for a meal for 2 and a drink each worked out roughly 30 euros .

Room Tip: worth considering hiring a car if your confident to drive abroad
