On arrival the hotel was alot bigger than we were lead to believe. We were told that the shops etc were close. In reality there was a shop and a small supermarket right outside the hotel door. The town, a term I use loosely, was a good 15 minute walk where there was nothing, a few bars and souvenir shops with no life at all. The walk is up hill which was difficult for me as I have back problems.
The holiday was our first all inclusive, however this did not include WiFi which was charged at 15euros the first week and 20 on the second for one device!!!!!!! We never got a safe but that was also charged at 20euros per week.
The food was ok but repetitive and by the end of the 2 weeks boring and bland with mainly chips as the potatoes offered. The kids menu was only ever pizza and chicken nuggets. The main protein was pork which was served everyday except a few when we had turkey and another when we had chicken.
Whilst I am a live and let live kind of person there were alot of Eastern Europeans our 2nd week, it was not just myself but other guests that found them rude and obnoxious. Pushing in lines at the restaurant whether you were an adult or child, barging through people and just generally rude. My daughter was grabbed quite viciously by a very large mature woman. I found the hotel staff very unhelpful however the Thomas Cook reps went above and beyond trying to resolve the matter, however due to the lack of an Alexandria Rep, who were never there and even hung the phone up on me when I rang them and explained why we needed a rep to get there....... Disgusting behaviour!!!!!! The only people for Alexandria there were the entertainments staff who did try to help but unfortunately I don't think they were equipped to deal with the situation.
Overall the holiday was OK with helpful Thomas Cook staff who are amazing.
We however will never return here!!!

visit july 2017 for 3 nights. what a let down. first the room was clean. but very small. be warned all your #all inclusive# gets you here are breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack ( toastie or cold hot dog ) dinner along with fountain soft drinks, beer, wine and local brand drinks. YOU PAY EXTRA FOR...safe in room. pool towels, fridge in room, kettle in room. remember also that these items may not cost the earth but all require a deposit which is refundable, but you still have to fork it out at the start of your stay along with the tourist tax of 1.65 euro per person per day up to max of nine days. loungers...some broken, some not. all uncomfortable.some might say there are not enough loungrs, but the truth is there is not enough land to put any more. 2 small pools 1 tiny whirlpool. beds surround all pools with no space between beds and are completely covered with towels by 9.30. if you intend to lie in the sun, better set your alarm. if you prefer to visit the truly charming beach area you can take towels and bake on the sand or pay 15 euro for 2 beds and a parasol, but dont leave the beds with nothing on them when you go for a dip in the crystal clear water, as the guy will rent them out again, thinking you have left the beach.people even lying on grassy areas. food....poor. if you can live on pasta and tom sauce or chips and beans you'll be fine. local drinks dont impress/ better paying the 1.70 euro for the real brand. to sum up if you have a couple of kids under ten, then this place will keep your kids happy all day.my biggesr problem is that there are too many people for the space available and the food choice is real motorway service station. had our stay been for longer than 3 nights, may have paid to get flight home early. budget hotel that will strectch your budget.

Room tip: third floor noise coming from plumbing in roof area, try to avoid.

Dear john k ,

Thank you for having chosen Club Hotel Aguamarina as your holiday destination and for sharing your detailed review of hour Hotel.

As advertised on our brochures and website, it states what is included on the All Inclusive system, and what is payable locally, such as Safe, pool towels, etc. Kindly note that sunbeds from the beach are not part of the Hotel, as it´s a public area.
For the 2018 season it will be a new All Inclusive Plus and brand new sunbeds around swimming pool areas.

We thank you again and we hope to see you back in Menorca.

Kind regards.

Pros:
The was great, lots of choices and great staff.
Pools, slides were great for both, kids and adults.
It is just 30 mins away from the airport, great!
Nice beach and lagoon but you have to pay 15 euro for the sunbeds.

Cons:
British Holidaymakers. They rushing to the sunbeds at 7am and cover every single place with their towels. Then go to the beach and turn up after lunch. I wish the resort staff could remove the towels after a period of time if not used.

Room tip: Block B is okay with some views to the main stage, as well as larger dining hall

I have returned today from here and have had a brilliant time . I decided to write a review on here as I read some bad reviews before we left and I was a little worried but I needn't of been . We arrived mid morning and checked in quickly . We went to our room and had a lovely room at the back of block b which overlooked the back of the hotel but also had a lovely sea view .The kids headed straight for the pools and we found a sunbed relatively easily .

The food was exactly what you expect from an all inclusive holiday and anybody who said there is no selection is just fussy . Yes there are chicken nuggets and chips available every day but there was also fresh fish every day as well as meat choices . There was different veg every meal too as well as salad and fruit . Your on holiday so you can eat what you like! The staff in the restaurant worked so well cleaning and relaying tables constantly to try and seat people as quickly as possible - short queues formed at times but they were cleared very quickly

Yes I agree the room was on the small side but no smaller than any other hotel abroad in a family hotel - you only go in there to sleep and change ( or we did )It was cleaned thoroughly everyday and we got towels on the days we left them in the bath as requested
Drinks were self service but saved you lots of queuing which we have done on previous holidays . (Only had to queue for spirits / cocktails ) .We found all the staff friendly during our stay both in the restaurant and the bar .The reception staff were also brilliant when my husband decided to loose the room key in the bottom of the swimming pool ( forgetting it was in his short pockets !! ) They quickly arranged another to be reactivated without hesitation - ( they also didn't charge us either which was a relief !)

The entertainment was brilliant for a package holiday hotel and the group on weds night and the magician were particularly good .
Our children chose not to attend the kids club sessions during the day but the reps were very friendly and chatty all the same .(They did go to the chocolate party one evening which was at an extra cost of 10 euros per child - but this was our choice and they had a lovely time )

The walk down to the beach was fairly steep but this was made very clear before we booked on the hotel info so it wasn't a surprise - it was definitely worth the walk down too as it was lovely

I also agree that the area around the hotel is quiet but again no real shock as it states in a quiet area of Menorca .

As a family we have had a lovely time and I honestly think some of the people who have reviewed this were in a different hotel to us .

I have just returned home from here, and honestly wish I could have stayed longer.
The hotel is in a beautiful location and all of the staff work so hard, the catering staff in the dining room work non stop and appreciate a bit of politeness, as some of the customers they have to deal with are so rude! They are very friendly and keep the hotel and grounds very clean. I had a wonderful time.
The seaview room was fantastic, such a gorgeous view to wake up to. There was a bit of a smell in places from the onsite sewage treatment plant, but it is actually not that bad.
The same general issue with sunbeds where people leave the towels out overnight for the next day, on all the front row sunbeds round the pool, and the staff cant possibly police this day and night, again this is not the hotels issue, but people on holiday having no respect for anyone else.
People also smoke round the pool, a lot, I appreciate that there isnt a smoking ban in place in countries abroad, but it should definetly be something to think about especially around the pool area where there are loads of children, having a 'no smoking area' there would not be an issue as there are loads of other areas to smoke, a few designated smoking area would be better.
The slides were fantastic, the food was fantastic, loads of choice and soo much food! all really well cooked.
Drinks are limited to two a person at a time, but that was never an issue, just go back and get more.
Rooms were cleaned daily and the maid was so polite and lovely.
We had absolutely no issues from check in to check out,
Thomas cook reps at the hotel could be more helpful about departure, they definetly let the team down by not knowing/caring and were quite dismissive/rude, compared to the hotel staff who really could not do enough to be helpful.
I would return here and definetly recommend going.
There are lots of children here so if you want peace and quiet this is not for you, but a very friendly fun family hotel.
If you want a place at the beach, you need to get down before 9am with towels and if you want a sunlounger at the pool, dont leave it past 7am.
There is an excellent gift shop and supermarket on site, both with very reasonable prices.
Also 10 mins down the road there is a waterpark which costs 20euros for an adult and 10 for a child to get in, a few more slides than the hotel, but not really worth the money, the hotel slides are plenty fun. (and free)

Room tip: Pay extra for a sea view room. Well worth it.
