Description: As the name suggests, this former old tram shed was built in 1904 in the village of Saltaire, which itself was founded in 1853 by Sir Titus Salt and takes its name from Sir Titus himself and the River Aire.Built by Sir Titus, Salts Mill was the centrepiece of. Saltaire around which he built the entire village, naming the streets after his children and family.Sir Titus however, would not allow a public house within the confines of the village fearing his workers would spend all their wages on ale and be too hung over to come to work. The last tram left the Saltaire depot in 1939 though it was still used during the 1950s for trolleybuses, later becoming a warehouse.Today, beautifully restored, The Old Tramshed is still an important landmark as well as a focal point for locals and visitors alike, and very much a part of the local community.

Impressive interior with a mix of old tram-shed architectural theme and some modern additions.
Yorkshire Blonde was passable as was the coffee.

Thank Mike P

Good food, great prices. Visiting from Hertfordshire we were weary after a long days travel, didnt fancy the menu at the fancy hotel we were staying at so trawled the local area looking for dinner, finally ended up at the old tramshed. We were looked after by skye whom looked after us so well that we were reluctant to leave. Steaks were cooked to perfection, starter good, too full for a pudd'n.
Whatever you do employer give sky a pay rise, clone her and never let her go! Wish i didn't live 180 miles away.

I called in with a colleague to arrange a business meeting and was met with friendliness and hospitality which quite frankly we weren't expecting mid morning. We found Alison, the Marketing Manager to be very efficient and quick to understand our needs and our business was concluded very satisfactorily. The coffees were tasty and generous as was the seating; in fact there was everything we required in choosing a venue for our events. Later, when we later called back for an impromptu lunch we couldn't believe the portion sizes for our offer lunch deal!! I had to take a doggy bag home even though I was eyeing enviously my friend's fresh and homemade pizza; the wild mushroom gnocchi was far too good to leave behind!! On the strength of this visit we have arranged our future monthly networking events there and are fully confident that our ladies will be looked after and enjoy the venue and the food. We are very excited to have found this GEM in Shipley and are looking forward to our Xmas party there.

We visited The Old Tramshed in Saltaire as we were looking for a new venue for our Ladies Networking groups and what a brilliant venue for networking.
Ticked all the boxes
Seperate room to main restaurant and bar
Loads of parking
open 11 - 1.45pm the time we needed
within our budget per head
spacious and very acommodating
Alison the Marketing manager understood our needs immeadiately and even managed to get our Xmas do and 6 dates into 2014. Top Class!!!
After our coffee we returned to have lunch and the portion sizes blew us away. The staff are extremely natural and very friendly. Excellent value for money , great venue and very unique brilliant staff. Can't wait to go back.

Myself and my wife celebrated our Golden Wedding at The Old Tramshed on Saturday evening. 28th September with relatives and friends and we all had a very enjoyable time..

We all chose a starter and main course from the Early Bird menu and what a fine selection we had to choose from. There was a choice of, at least, 9 different starters and 9 main courses.
Our waitress, Skye, was extremely helpful in explaining what meals were available and gave us all plenty of time to choose

The meals were served by friendly waitresses and on time. No-one had to wait for their meals.

The food, itself, was plentiful and tasted superb. Congratulations to the chef.

The venue, itself, is ideal for celebrations with tables upstairs for eating. There is also a private
function room available.

Waitresses will bring drinks, if requested, but you can also go down to the bar. It was extremely busy. The bar staff were very friendly and their service was fast and professional.

I can highly recommend The Old Tramshed for any kind of celebration and am certain that
you will be well received and have a very enjoyable time there
