“Hidden gem, which i never expected”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

David Hockney fans would have a great day here with a fine display of his work with up and coming artists having a great choice of materials to purchase. Loads of various shops all set out over 3 floors of this old mill in a great park wonderful for all ages, our grandchildren twins aged 5 thought it was wonderful as did we and the best thing it did not cost us an arm and leg for this simple day out.

“Really interesting place to visit”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

Visited whilst staying in Harrogate as only 30 minutes away. The Salts Mill is an impressive collection of historic buildings, and there are many different things of interest inside from the story/history of the Mill and village to shops (book, cook, outdoor, craft, etc), Salts Diner and galleries. We wandered around the Village and took shelter from a rain show in the Victori Hall entrance. The relief caretaker - Chris - gave us an impromptu tour of the Hall showing us 2 of the function rooms, the grand staircase and the lovely views from the 1st floor.

“Lovely historic village.”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

After visiting salts mill we went for a walk around the village. went into the beautifully ornate united reformed church - very interesting information boards posted inside. As we were walking around the old village taking photos, a local gentleman engaged us in conversation & then took us on a guided tour pointing out many things of interest (thanks Harry!) We then walked along the canal (a small sculpture trail - not of particular interest) Had a drink at the Boathouse (the food looked very good). Some nice little shops, cafes in the village & lots of poorly looking cats!

What a lovely place. The park is great, big playground area with skate park. Nice tea room and a cricket pitch, watched a great amateur game whilst listening to the ashes.
