Great architecture, shops and a lovely canal walk added to mills and a great restaurant at Salts. Walk up to Bingley and back for great views and plenty of locks.

Definitely my fault for simply trusting Unesco Heritage Site and not browsing for more info. It was freezing cold, nothing to do and dead on a Sunday in January. Would advice other travellers to really ponder whether the extra miles are a good choice.

Fabulous history, geat tearooms, cute village, stilmulating Salts Mill, Wonderful bespoke shops, antiques, cards and gifts, Saltiare is old and arty.
Great canal walks, lovely park for picnics and super stone buildings. Perfect to visit in the summer months, when its warmer!

If you love history then you will love Titus Salt's village. There are numerous shops and restaurants and bars as well as the church. Take time to walk through the streets and you can see the different styles of houses - how some are smaller for the workers and the larger ones for the bosses = very interesting. The streets are quite narrow and there is parking on the road but I would suggest the pay and display car park although it is quite small.

Once you've visited the mill, have a stroll around Saltaire village, and enjoy the different craft shops and bistro that are there.
Also there is the opportunity to walk along the river bank also, a great day out.
