“Business trip”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

We stayed at the Abbey Lodge Hotel 3rd March overnight. We were greeted very warmly by the owner and welcomed to the hotel. The reception area is very bright, modern and clean with a coffee table full of newspapers for guests to read, large screen TV on the wall and a small bar area to the side which doubles up as a breakfast room. We were escorted to our room by his grandson (who is learning the business) up and down fairly dark staircases (this is three houses knocked in to the one hotel I understand) but once you opened any of the doors the light came on automatically. We were very impressed with our double room. The en-suite bathroom had a lovely jet tub bath with over shower and a very slick wash basin and toilet. The bedroom was furnished with dark wood which complemented the pale walls and dark throw on the bed. Wifi is available in the hotel. Breakfast was very generous and help your self to coffees and teas. Big cooked English or continental breakfast. We had the cooked breakfast which is a treat but the fruit bowls were overflowing with freshly chopped melons, strawberry and the little satsumas had all been freshly peeled, smelled heavenly!!!
We had asked for some recommendations for restaurants on the previous night and before we knew it, the grandson had printed a list off for us with local taxi cab numbers - fantastic service. We will definitely recommend this little gem and would not hesitate to stay again if in the area.

Room Tip: Cannot really comment - we were happy with what we were allocated

My grateful thanks to the receptionist who changed my room to a ground floor one after I had struggled with the walk from the station.
The room was scrupulously clean and well decorated and although small was fine for its purpose. Staff were friendly and informative and the beer in the bar was cheaper than some of the local pubs.
Breakfast was busy with more guests than tables but the staff coped efficiently to keep things flowing. The cooked part of the breakfast was lovely. My only criticism was the tea was in a flask rather than pots but it actually was still hot and tasted fine. The hotel was full and deservedly so considering the service given for the price. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Having scouted the chain hotels for a cheap deal, we found this hotel just by googling hotels near Bingley.
I would describe this a small hotel but great on customer service and friendliness.
Our room was at the top of the hotel and very nicely decorated. My only critisim would be with the layout of the bathroom as my fiancé had to stand at the side of the toilet just so he didnt have to bend over.
The staff were very friendly and polite and the breakfast was very tasty (good service too).
A great find and the area seemed very pleasant too.

This is a good value, friendly hotel. The rooms are not huge but well furnished and modern. DVD player a great extra. Ask for a front room for a view. It is not a sophisticated place nor a boutique hotel but it is functional and user friendly. Owner and staff caring, helpful and friendly. The bar area could do with warming up, a little utilitarian. Value for money, overall comfort and a great breakfast, none better. Make a booking and enjoy as we did.

Room Tip: Ask about being in a front room for view.

We needed good basic accommodation near Saltaire, helpful staff, comfortable and clean room and facilities and an excellent breakfast! 10 minute walk to Salt's Mill - Early Music Shop and David Hockney exhibition were first class visits. Good pub food on the Leeds-Liverpool canal only 5 minutes walk and several Asian restaurants nearby

Room Tip: Ask for lower floors - we were on the top and there is no lift. Our room at the top was rather smal...
