“Authentic Umbria!”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

We went to Osteria de Dada numerous times. Superb genuine local food, wonderful service, good value and a 'comfortable' atmosphere. For both foreigners and Italian visitors, Osteria de Dada is a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. I wonder what I could say that would be of interest to others? I read one or two of the negative reviews. I really can't resonate with their experience. My suggestion to everyone is..you need to experience it for yourself.

“Food isn't everything”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

We went one night and enjoyed it very much. We decided to go back, and when we entered there was only one table seated in the entire restaurant. The waitress decided to give us a 2 seat table right at the door, and I mean AT the door. You would have to move to let anyone else enter.
We asked for another table and she quickly responded 'No'. I would rather have mediocre food and be treated well than to be treated the way we were treated at this joint.
Went down the hill to Pizzeria Il Frantoio; they were nice, the food was good, it was a true 'neighborhood' restaurant. They didn't treat us like tourists.

“Slow Food: Slow Service”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

This tiny trattoria on the main drag is always full and you must arrive early in the meal hour to get a table. The food is simple but good and the traditional dishes are prepared well. The prices are cheap and portions fair. Don't let the waitress select for you and choose your wine from the limited selection. The soups and bean dishes are great on a cold day and the bruschette with local olive oil is a great starter. A must have is the wild boar, whether on pasta or as a secondi it is good. This trattoria has only 2 people on staff: one to cook and one to wait tables. If you have a low tolerance for slow or spotty service (the waitress doesn't always remember what meals go with which table) keep walking. There are plenty of good restaurants in this magical little hill town.

“Hearty country fare”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

This tiny little osteria packs a lot of surprises. Plates are simple and rustic, but delicious. It's one of those places that fills up fast and because it's so small can become loud and crowded, but that only adds to the atmosphere of friendship and fun. The waitstaff was very friendly as well. A chalkboard outside lists the day's dishes.

“Cheap eat, but slow”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

You'll get an extra typical meal here and for a very cheap price (plus the house wine is always fantastic) but you will have to wait. If you have the time, it's a very Italian experience.
