Very polite, attentive staff, very professional. Imposing building, but was relieved I didn't end up in the room haunted by the ghost of a child. Room felt luxurious, lovely views from window, stunning building in lovely grounds. I went to a friend's party and the kitchen kindly made me a lovely snack of smoked salmon sandwiches. I wish I could have stayed at the hotel longer and was sad to leave early in the morning to travel home.

Room Tip: One of the rooms is supposed to be haunted.

We had never been to Lanark before but chose it for its proximity to Glasgow, Edinburgh and New Lanark. After travelling through the town, we never expected the stunning location of the hotel or the beauty of the building, which was a converted Georgian/Victorian house. The inside is equally stunning with its lacquered wood and impressive central staircase. Our family room was high ceilinged, spacious and had a panoramic view. The staff were the most helpful and obliging that I have come across and were excellent ambassadors for both the hotel and Scotland. We had a great time there and will certainly go back some time in the future.

Visited this hotel for the wedding of my daughter , staying 12th and 13th July. The building has the wow factor set in beautifully maintained ground. The interior is kept to a high standards, with very comfy beds and spacious rooms. The staff were very incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

My friend and I visited on Sunday 21st July, quite late in the evening.
Due to working late he had no dinner and was extremely hungry but the restaurant and kitchen were closed for the night.

Alan was on duty and with no hesitation offered to go down to the kitchen put his chef hat on and rustle up what ever my friend wished. Ten minutes later he appeared with a delightful prawn cocktail, ah the presentation was beautiful and my friend said it taste delicious, yum, devouring all.

Thank you Alan from us both for been so kind and professional, you truly are an asset to the hotel and sure to be area manager very soon.

We visited this hotel briefly, where tea and sandwiches were being served for a small family gathering after a nearby funeral service. It is situated in lovely woodland grounds and the building is very much your typical large traditional Scottish country house.

The staff were very pleasant and the service simple but efficient. It appeared to be an excellent place to drop in for a drink or meal. I am unable to assess the accommodation.

I stayed on business on the 28th June, I drove from Nottingham and was very impressed overall.
The location is beautiful, the gardens green and lush, nothing overlooking it, very quiet and little outside traffic.
Stunning building, I couldn't get over the decor and original features!
Staff on arrival were incredibly pleasant and helpful, and to arrive in my room to discover I had been upgraded form a single to a double was a lovely surprise!
I let them know I would be late back (around 2am) and the night porter was fully informed and was quite happy to welcome me back.
My room was clean, spacious and comfortable, I slept really well (albeit for 4 hours) before getting up to a non-cooked breakfast at 7am, (chef arrived at 8am but I was made aware of this the night before), but the choices of fruit, cereal, hot beverages, toast and spreads were plentiful, and all good quality!
Sad to leave but am happy to return, will book again for next year!
