“Excellent Little Restaurant”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

This was our first visit to this restaurant and were impressed with both the service and quality of the food. The staff were friendly and the food was on a par with more expensive restaurants that we have been to. Overall this is an excellent little restaurant and a refreshing change from the Italian chins that dominate the high street down south.

“Lunch at Prego's”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

Had Lunch here. Still not really sure why the manager left two young waitresses in charge when the restaurant was so busy !! Tried to discuss wine choice with the girls and unfortunately they had no opinions to offer so stuck with soft drink. Food was okay for me but not great for my colleague who had lasagne - she said it was tasteless, the funny thing was someone in the table next to us advised her to add some seasoning and that should help add taste !! All in all not great - very average. The two young waitresses were very nice however should never have been left to cope when it was so busy !!

“First Class Restaurant from a Regular Customer”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

I feel that the comments made from the customer on Dec 6th read more like an advert for Tony Macaroni's rather than a review of Prego restaurant. We are weekly customers in the restaurant and can guarantee that the standard of food is excellent, the staff are friendly and efficient and there are english descriptions on the menu explaining what ingredients are in all meals eg."prego sticks". Also there has not been an English manager or staff member for at least 6 months? Was this customer in the restaurant or just having a rant about a place they know nothing about.
The restaurant is always busy, full of regular customers who enjoy quality meals in very tasteful surroundings.

“What is a prego stick?cant wait for tony macaroni Lanark to arrive”
Reviewed December 6, 2012 via mobile

Decided to give this restaurant a second chance after a thoroughly disappointing first experience, wish I hadn't bothered!!ill start with dessert the famous "prego stick" this was no more than a bog standard deep fried Italian doughnut available in all sub standard "Italians".this had been recommended by the English head waiter(yes the one in all the photos).starter was alright tomato bruschetta main course was a 'pollo prego' which to me seemed awfully like chicken in mushroom buillion sauce just like in these types of restaurants!all this was washed down to add insult to injury by the worst espresso I've ever had the misfortune to put in my mouth.to sum up I hear tony macaroni are opening soon about time the area had a half decent restaurant with a half decent coffee(love the bei and nannini coffee that tony sells!)two stars as the general comedy value of the whole evening added something to the atmosphere
