Went into the White Lion in Bala looking for a place to have a cup tea. We were greeted by friendly staff, Eileen who not only made us feel right at home but was extremely pleasant and sense of humour was brilliant. Me and my partner are camping this weekend and I will definitly be going back in
there. Would even consider staying the night :-) a lovely place with lovely staff.

Travelling through the area and looking for lunch. Delighted with this - 3 roasts - super vegetables, red cabbage, broccoli, excellent cauliflower cheese, carrots and 3 different tupes of potatoes. Generous portions, efficient courteous service. Hit the spot exactly.

Had a meal here on the first day I arrived as I couldn;t be bothered cooking the first night. I had the "pie of the day" which was chicken and mushroom. It was great, crusty pastry and good filling and overall a good size for a meal (hate it when you order a pie in a restruant and it arrives the size of a minuture pork pie). Came with either mash or chips I went fr mash which again was good and well sized. It also came wiht a side of veg which I didn't realy touch but overall my meal was nice and well priced.

Service was good although we were the only people in the restraunt so probably not a great yardstick to measure by.

My only complaint was the kids pizza was awful - looked and tasted burnt - this could of been a one off. I should have complained about it but it was that first day of holiday after travelling for hours so couldn't be bothered so my own fault really.

Room Tip: Ony ate here never stayed...

The food is good value and so are the drinks, but the bar could really do with a good clean and some general updating, it is cluttered and old fashioned. I had a burger with tomato salsa and cheese and it was absolutely delicious, the buns were fresh and the meat was succulent. If you do not care about the appearence then head here as it was definitely tasty!

This hotel was absolutely fine and great value for what we paid! The breakfast was adequate but could have done with some fruit, the staff though went above and beyond and were super helpful throughout our stay. The dinner was disappointing with many options missing from the menu and the food distinctly average. The bathroom was noisy and as other reviewers have mentioned, noise at night was a problem with single glazed windows on the weekend. Ideal location for walking, cycling and water activities on the lake as it is right in the centre of Bala.

The hotel is on the High Street in Bala. We stayed in an Executive Double which was great the room was large with large bathroom with bath and power shower in the bath. The hotel was very clean and tidy. Staff very helpful. The food at the hotel was very good, and a decent price.
The only downside is that there is a Wine Bar just opened over the road. The bar is open till late and when it comes to closing time there is a lot of noise outside. With us it started at about 12.30am and continued till about 3.00am

stayed at the White Lion last weekend with 5 friends on a cycling trip to Coed-y-Brenin. Could not quite believe what good value the rooms were, 6 of us incl. breakfast for £190. Whats more, I couldn't really fault the place, right in the centre of Bala, parking, nice bar, restaurant, good food, nice rooms and very friendly. OK, its not up market or anything really special, but if you want somewhere clean, friendly and affordable to stay its spot on. Dead handy for Coed-y-Brenin, around 30 mins drive away. Would definitely stay here again
