We camped here just in a little nook by the lake and the experience was magical. What a lake to wake up to! The little railway is charming and very 'Railway Children'. Beautiful spot and lovely little village.

Words fail me. The sights and sounds, and peacefulness of this part of wonderful Wales, are simply poetical. Myself and my wife stayed at the lovely Pen y bont campsite. I was up with the birds that seemed to be auditioning for the next Disney movie early hours every morning! But it was a good excuse for me to stroll the 15 minutes to the town via the beauty that is the lake and it's hills and distant backdrop mountains. What a place. See Bala and it's friendly folk before you die. Or if you want to sample heaven get yourselves to Bala!

Stayed in Bala for the week and had lovely walks in hills either side of lake. Great base for any North Wales holiday. Good pubs and restaurants. Local people very friendly and welcoming.
