We went for Xmas and had the best time ever. Steve and Gulin were amazing in every possible way. They have literally thought of everything. They even went to the effort of putting up a tree and getting the kids a gift. The cottages are so comfortable and warm. If you go to Wales this is the place you should stay. We are already planning our return. Thank you for everything you done and more. 10/10
Loved this place. Spotlessly clean , with superb hosts who made us feel at home. The accommodation was very comfortable, a home from home.
Won’t hesitate to return the next time we come to Wales - thank you ☺️
Beautiful cottages in a great location, extremely helpful owners and a great local pub!
So much to do in the area if you like the outdoors!
We (a couple, two children aged 14 and 9, and our dog) have just spent 3 nights at Y Gadlas but so wish we could have stayed longer!
The owners: very welcoming and friendly. Always happy to chat.
The cottage: just lovely, very spacious, well equipped, beds are comfortable and the place is very clean. The welcome basket and wine were very much appreciated.
Set on a beautiful site. Very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful views from Bryn Melyn,
Ideally situated for exploring North Wales.
The children loved the games room - (they now want a pool table at home :-)!!).
And last but not least.... the dogs!!! One adult (Boo) and one 9 weeks old pup (Bryn) Alaskan Malamutes, so soft, adorable and friendly!
It was just a perfect stay, thank you... Highly recommended!
We (2 adults, 2 children and our dog Indy) stayed in the Y GADLAS cottage at Bryn Melyn Farm Cottages for 5 nights.
We received a warm welcome upon arrival and were given a brief tour of the cottage and the grounds by Gulin. They were there to answer any questions throughout the holiday, but otherwise left us to enjoy our break and their wonderful grounds and facilities.
The cottage itself was clean and had everything we needed. It was a lot bigger than we expected for a 2-bed cottage. The welcome pack was appreciated and you could tell Steve and Gulin had spent a lot of effort getting the cottages to a really good standard.
The grounds were great and we went home missing the woods, the fields, the walk to the river! The games room was a favourite of the kids too.
Our dog doesn't always get along with other dogs. Steve and Gulin were very understanding and would call their dog to one side if we were out and about with our one. As there is do much to do in North Wales, we didn't ever see the other cottage users in the communal garden so the kids (and unsocial dog!) had the whole large space to themselves. The enclosed field and short woodland walk also allowed us to let our dog off the lead - something we can't really do in our suburban parks.
We arranged for a small Tesco delivery for when we arrived. It worked really well, although if you forget anything, there is a Co-op about 15 mins away. We'd also recommend the pub at the end of the road for evening meals. Dogs and kids welcome.
We didn't get a chance to use the outside area by the woods, set aside for BBQs and for sitting round a fire-pit. We hope to visit again though!
Perfect location for a short family break and gateway to beautiful Bala and beyond. Easy booking process and great directions and communication from the owners. The accommodation and facilities did not disappoint and reflected what the website promised and more. A comfortable, relaxing stay, only sad we couldn't stay longer!. A 'first' holiday for our chocolate Labrador 'Aero 'which was facilitated by the dog friendly surroundings. Our review wouldn't be complete without mentioning the owners own lovely husky dog 'Boo' who lives up to her boo-tiful name. We look forward to returning in the future and would definitely recommend a visit.
