We arrived here as a group of four adults and two children having booked about a fortnight in advance. The staff were friendly, very helpful and offered to assist whenever the need arose. Our meals were well cooked, served promptly and enjoyable, especially the"slim line low calorie" sweets. As we left to feed the ducks on lake Bala we were presented with a free loaf of bread, a nice touch.

Having failed to get a good meal in Bala in the past when booking a table for 15 plus guests I really hoped that Plasyndre would live upto expectations because there was no other options left, that I was aware of.

Thankfully our party enjoyed good food with plenty of fresh veg,and excelent service all in a plesant atmosphere.

Recomened.

Having seen the reviews of Plas Yn Dre we expected a warm welcome but didn't have great expectations of the food. However, not only were all of the staff very very friendly and helpful but out meal of Sea Bass was just terrific. We were delighted with our visit

We have visited this pub/restaurant several times. The staff are very friendly plus there is the added bonus that you can eat outside in the sunshine. The main restaurant is very modern and suitable for families. I tried the lasagne. It was delicious. I also tried the sea bass. Again it was delicious. The waitress brought us some bread as they had misplaced our order and she apologised for the delay. The food is great value for money and we would highly recommend it.

We visited this restaurant on 7th June to celebrate a birthday. We had been here last year and had a nice meal and so were looking forward to going back. When we were shown to our table we were told about the specials for the day and that the chef would make something up for the vegetarian in our party. The elderly waiter was very friendly but then he forgot all about us. Two from our party went to get drinks from the bar. The person serving spilled one drink and then opened a coke bottle which sprayed all over the place. We then waited for someone to take our order. The waiter then took other orders of people who had been seated after us. When we called him to take our order he seemed to take umbrage that he had forgotten about us. After saying we could have a vegetarian meal prepared, it turned out that there was no pasta. All that was on offer was a leek bake or mushroom stroganoff. As the latter usually has a sauce, rice was requested with it. When the meal came it was a dried up mushroom bake and the rice had been forgotten but was not needed as there was no sauce. I had ordered the cod loin special but when the waitress brought it she said it was haddock. What did I get? No one came to ask if our meal was good or if we wanted anything else. When I went to pay the waiter was very cool and did not ask anything about the meal. By the way, the till receipt showed that it was a bake we had been given. We will definitely not go back to this place.
