We visited 20th to 27th July, 11 of us ranging in age from 2 to 80 years of age. The property is stunnning with gorgeous sea views. However our break was hugely disappointing due to some failings. The huge tv and projector screen were not working during our visit. Our intended cinema nights could not happen. Instead a much smaller tv was provided, perched on the edge of 2 tiny coffee tables. Not very safe! The drying element of the washing machine doesn’t work, so although you can wash clothes, you are unable to dry them. This was an issue for us as some of our party had been on holiday the week before and desperately needed to wash clothes.
The hob is unable to cope with 4 rings being on at the same time. It overheats, and turns all the rings off. Impossible to cook a big family meal for us. Hugely disappointing and frustrating.
The bathrooms were all immaculately clean, yet in one chest of drawers there were pubic hairs and dead insects.
The wheely bin is filthy. The cream sofas are grubby. Some of the kitchen equipment like saucepan lids were dirty too.
We had high hopes for this week, a family get together that doesn’t happen very often. We certainly didn’t get what we were hoping for and expecting, nor what we had paid for.
Not all the TVs in the rooms worked either, and it took 5 days for the issue with the tv in my bedroom to be resolved. Not much use as we’re only staying here a week.
With a bit more effort our week could have been amazing. It feels as if the owner doesn’t care about paying guests. The house is on the market, so maybe that’s why.
I’m surprised there hasn’t been any other disappointed guests recently.
The house is very beautiful but half way up a massive hill with a 20% gradient. Cycling down was very hairy, cycling up was a killer. The views are indeed stunning but the house has some serious deficits. Firstly the BBQ was filthy, I didn't fancy scrubbing it so we didn't use it. The hot tub wasn't as clean as it should be either. The white sofas need a deep clean as someone else mentioned and over all standards of cleanliness were not what you would expect for a rental costing over a thousand pounds. Since we returned I've also had trouble getting the owner to return my deposit despite there being no issues and me sending my bank details twice.
The house was a real delight with lots of space for a large family – it had the most incredible views of the beach which was a 2 minute drive to – we didn’t walk down to the beach as we had children with small legs who wouldn’t have walked back up the steep hill. It was our first time in this part of Wales but it won’t be our last – the coastline is a dream with beautiful beaches every few miles. Pendine is long and sandy with little coves. 10 mins up the coast we came across the beach at Wisemans Bridge which we particularly loved and then further round the coast the beaches at Tenby are a must to visit being so picturesque.
We holidayed with our 2x grandchildren only as the rest of the family had to stay home due to the imminent birth of a child and we had to leave after 4 nights as baby was born! The house was spacious for us all and the girls made one of the rooms into a play room. The bedrooms were good sizes and the beds were comfy and the pillows too and the showers were strong and refreshing. The fixtures and fittings were beautiful and I loved the ethnic ornaments. There was plenty of plates, cutlery, even a dolce gusto coffee machine.
I would recommend any large supermarket delivery as surprisingly there is no welcome pack on arrival so if you don’t get a delivery you won’t get a cup of tea or coffee until you shop and after a 6 hour journey we definitely wanted a drink. There was no salt and pepper – a few basics would have been nice? Plus local stores were expensive e.g. wine was double the price of a supermarket and bread up to double the price – I’m all for supporting local communities and shops but our budget was tight.
Little drawbacks: No curtains in any of the bedrooms so once the sun comes up you are awake which is not what you want on holiday especially with children who are up then too. The large rug in the lounge area had food debris. The double bedroom (downstairs) shower room had signs of mould and certainly was smelly. The bedroom carpets have seen better days with staining.
The hot tub was lovely. The utility was useful. We would recommend the Blue Lagoon swimming complex but plan the journey as we got lost and your booking is only for a few hours. The big screen was wonderful but complex to use – took us a few days to work it out. Unfortunately the boat trips to Caldey Island were not running until next week.
Would we recommend to family and friends – yes! Will we be back – yes!
• HOWEVER PLEASE GET SOME CURTAINS OR BLACKOUT BLINDS.
Had a lovely family Christmas in this amazing place, so spacious and views were lovely. The only criticism was lack of kitchen equipment, no tea towels and towels for shower/ bath were small ( me being size 10 ) they were more like a large hand towel
Fabulous house with amazing views. Room proportions brilliant. Great space for a large party and children. Immaculately clean on arrival. Needs to have kitchen equipment updated. We had to buy a large pan and casserole dish. If the house sleeps 10 then equipment should be provided to cater for this many. Other than that a perfect weeks holiday.
Large house, 5 beds 4 baths/showers, with hot tub. Exceptional views across Pendine beach from lounge. Would suit large groups or families. Limited parking on drive .
However I would not classify this property as luxury. I feel it is tIred , the soft furnishings in the main lounge need deep clean. kitchen utensils poor, not good enough. Bbq I would not use. We were disappointed.
There are plenty of good restaurants , but they are a short drive.
This is a grear house! Plenty of room for 9 people and loads of bathrooms! The views are absolutley stunning. All amenities are provided and the kitchen is well equipped.
