Review of Museum of Speed

Museum of Speed
Ranked #4 of 5 things to do in Pendine
More attraction details
Attraction details
Owner description: The museum overlooks the "Sands of Speed" - the long beach famous for world land speed record attempts and motor bike racing. The museum is open between Good Friday (Easter) and the last Sunday in September. The main summer exhibit for July to September is usually 'Babs', the motor car raced by Parry-Thomas to the world record in 1926. However, please check in advance if Babs will be there at the time of your intended visit so as to avoid disappointment.

Great Little museum very interesting and informative a must visit for all that go to Pendine sands and if you are a petrol head it is like the spiritual home to all motor racing it is free to enter but as we all know the enthusiasts that run it do need to make some money to keep it going there is a collection box near the door so please give something to keep this little gem going for future generations to visit and learn

This is a very nice small museum loved the short video and the bikes are great if anyone thinks that it's a waste of time or is that it remember that its free no one made you go their and it's history off the area too and I think the donations box should be made bigger to stand out :) keep up the good work

The thought that this car has "seen" so much history is brilliant.. I was in awe of this machine and so glad that it has been saved. Any petrolhead needs to visit and pay thier respects.

Video of the attempt to make speed records in which Babs gave up and Parry Thomas died, and her reconstruction with help from tyre makers and others.
Old bikes on display
I suppose you need to have an interest in speed /attempts to break records etc, but the setting is fantastic above the sands, looking out to sea.
No admission, small gift shop
