“Perfect half board family holiday”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

Great caravan location (19 firs) close to all amenities especially for having two small children...we stayed half board which may I add is well worth doing if you don't fancy cooking! Food choice was unbelievable and very tasty, big breakfast and a three course meal in the evening. I would advise if you have two small children pay for one half board as portion sizes are big enough for them to share save yourself some money.
We found the entertainment really good for the children! The park has every thing you need to keep young children entertained. We spent a lot of time at the beach as it was such a short walk away! Bought the kids some great little wet suits from the bucket and spade gift shop they loved splashing around in the sea.
The coast bar also has a childrens play park and splash park be sure to get there before 11 on a sunny as it gets really busy and you won't get a seat.
We will be returning next year didn't want to come home

Thanks for your review.

Great to hear you'll be coming back next year, we can't wait to see you again :)

Trecco Bay definitely has lots to keep everyone, especially the kids entertained and we're pleased they had lots of Parkdean fun.

See you soon.

We booked with a private owner, fri to Monday for £145 no passes included. The caravan we stayed in was not treccos so cannot complain about them . The park itself though is so expensive it feels like every hard earned penny that families have are being squeezed out Of them at every turn. Don't take cash out on site, walk out of the main entrance , turn right and look for the post office, £1.75 to take out money is just disgusting and a big black slur on park dean for allowing it. It's free in the post office. The site itself is beautifully maintained by hard working staff. The views and beach are gorgeous , go exploring. We ate in the coast restaurant . It's expensive !!!!! Go into town or order in . We have been here twice this year already and will be back but cheaper if you rent privately

Recently stayed in Parkdean's Walnut 10 caravan in Trecco Bay. Have to say the caravan was pretty awfull. Apparently it was a "smoking caravan" and the horrible smoky smell hit you the minute you entered. Had I been advised at the time of booking that it was smoking I would never have booked it. Even copious amounts of febreze which my husband happened to have in the car didn't help. Also, there was no plug for the sink, no ice tray and the shower was far from clean. The double bed had a plastic mattress, no protector, so when you turned over the sheet came with you! What's that all about!! So beware out there don't hire Walnut 10 on trecco Bay.

My children and I had a great time at Trecco Bay Holiday Park in July 2014. This caravan park has been established with young families in mind - there is lots of activity to keep the children entertained through the day and the night. My children are 12 and 13 and found the entertainment a little young for them - but they certainly enjoyed watching the "little ones" having a great time. The caravans are well appointment - albeit the bedrooms and beds are a little small. Remember to take "everything" with you. There is nothing supplied and you will need to take tea towels, washing up liquid, soap etc….. There is free wifi available in restricted areas -this was a little poor. However, overall, a great family holiday.

I have just returned from a 3 night break with the sun vouchers and it was fab. Easy and quick check in with very friendly and welcoming staff.

Caravan was located close by to the facilities in chestnut which was ideal. No noise as in previous reviews or delivery trucks. Caravan was clean and only required a small amount of reshaking. No kitchen knifes at all but this was quickly sorted. We had two bathrooms and a nice double room with ensuite. Better and different from our previous caravan at Cherry Tree.

Visited the showdome mainly for the children entertainment and this was good. activities in the morning and evening were of a good standard. Apart from one morning where the park dean trouper looked a little tired or worse for wear but they work hard so can be expected. Children were not fussed but I could tell. Sid and Lizze shows were good and entertaining. Never really stayed out past 9pm so can not comment on the live acts.

The beach was nice, good sand and clear water. Only a small walk our caravan so really on the doorstep.

Meals are pricey in the actual park but that's like anywhere you visit. I enjoyed a burger from the diner and ice cream from the pizza shop both were fine and again good service.

The pool was good, there is a 1 hour 15 minute limit on use I guess to make it fair. it was not over busy and we never had to queue to get in like some have mentioned but maybe due to being out of season.

Nice play park for children, did not try the mini golf, soft play area or the bowling but plenty to do around the park for sure.

Overall a nice break away, clean caravan, nice staff and people around the park.

I would recommend and defo go again. Thank you Parkdean for making holidaying in the UK a privilege.

We got back from a 4 nights stay last Friday. We had a really lovely break, the weather helped a lot, it was really good. We got to the site quite early which gave us time to wander around and see what's what. We eventually got our keys after a long wait in the queue. The caravan was good. We have stayed in a few now and this was the smallest we have stayed in tho. We paid an extra £80 for an upgrade which we don't usually do, but thought we would treat ourselves as I was recovering from an illness. However, if we didn't I think we would have had a bigger caravan. We had 92 the cedars and was told it was 2 mths old and had already shown some signs of wear. The toaster didn't work, so we just used the grill. The double bed was the best we had slept in a caravan and the pillows were brilliant, and the beds were made up even though we didn't pay for that. Also we were given the passes which we didn't for which was a nice surprise. My husband went swimming using this and we went to see a show once which was very good. The young group of singers were amazing, we didn't know how get could keep up and remember all they had to do. Better than the Xfactor! We were very near Newton Beqch which was a bonus and spent all day on it one day, we were told the locals call it pacamac beach as it nearly always rains. Lovely views it Ogmore by Sea. We walked from Trecco Beach to Porthcawl which was lovely too, it was really nice to see the recovery of this area from the storms earlier this year. We would go back.

Room Tip: If you want somewhere quiet go to the cedars. On the whole it does depend on your "neighbours...

Our family has stayed here several times over the years and we love it!
The onsite facilities are brilliant and a real credit to parkdean. There's something for everyone - splash park and mini golf for the kids, sports bar and adults only entertainment for the over 18s and restaurant, cafe and show dome for the whole family. The only criticism would be that the cafe/bar prices are a little steep but that's to be expected.
The caravans we have had have always been clean, well equipped and not too far from the main complex.
Porthcawl town is a walkable distance from the park making the location ideal.

Overall, the park has everything you need and is perfect for any family. We live local and regularly use the facilities and would still return again and again!
