Parkdean - Trecco Bay Holiday Park
Reviewed November 7, 2012

We have just returned from a long weekend in Park Dean Trecco Bay. Having visited a few Park Dean sites this is by far the best, it has a adults only bar, family bar, sports bar, restaurant, chip shop, shop, pizza place, mini golf, swimming pool, children play area, bowling, 2 amusements, fast food restaurants ETC. As you can see from some of the facilities I have listed Trecco Bay is the perfect place for families and couples a like.
The entertainment was as brilliant as it was the first time we visited, although there was one act called Gold Dust which weren’t as good as the rest. The food is of a high quality and there is always something on offer. The park itself is spotless and only a 5 minute walk to the beach and the main town of Porthcawl.
This time around we did not upgrade the caravan as it was a last minute trip. Unfortunately you could tell it was not upgraded as the fire alarm kept beeping every 10 minutes, the heater in the bed room did not work and as well as this one of the doors to the caravan would not open.
Having said that how much time do you actually spend in the caravan? Trecco Bay is by far the best caravan site I have ever been too and we will definitely be returning next year.

Room Tip: Pay to upgrade the caravan, the difference is unbelievable.

Although the park has a lot of carvans on site, many of them are privately owed.We booked though the park and had a lovely caravan with two showers and verenda. It was spotless as was the decking. When we walked back from the main entertainment area we could look out across the bay and see the many colour changes in the sky.All food outlets on site were very reasonably priced-hence why i didnot cook all week. All meals were well presented and couldnot fault any of the meals we had.Overall the park was well maintained and clean. We thought overall it was good valve for money.

Room Tip: Pick the caravan with two showers and central lounge

We stayed here on a Sun Holiday Deal in November Half Term.
We were in a 2 bedroomed Caerphilly Caravan in the Brambles area of the park. The caravan was basic but clean. And was plenty big enough for the 4 of us that stayed. (Myself, husband, 13yo and 4yo).
Was impressed with how spacious the bathroom was for a caravan. The kitchen was well equipped and all cutlery etc was clean
We even had a sea view. The weather wasnt great while we stayed but we had expected that seeing as it was November!
We didn't visit the clubs in the evenings as that is just not our thing but did use some of the facilities during the day.
Swimming pool was clean and the soft play area is vast!
My 4yo daughter enjoyed the short time she spent in the kids club on the Sunday morning.
Although the weather was cold we spent a while on the beach investigating the rock pools.
We would visit again and I should imagine in the summer this park is fab being so close to the beach.
The staff at the check in were very helpful and friendly

We stayed here in October week before half term hols, we have always had an enjoyable holiday here and have visited yearly as a family with children. Our caravan was as close as u could get really and was over looking the all weather sports court which was great for us as we have 2 older boys age 9 & 11 and it ment they could go do their pen thing and we could see them from the caravan at all times. We had wall mounted heaters in bedrooms which were great at night and also a fire in living area. The food in the restaurant was reasonably price, great selection and was delicious. The entertainment for the kids day and night was great they thoroughly enjoyed. We caught an hour of adult entertainment one night which we enjoyed but with 2 little ones age 3. & 9 months it was hard to stay out past .8.30. The outdoor play area was great for the 2 youngest and spent hours playing there. They also enjoyed the swimming pool which wasn't overcrowded, was lovely and warm. The pool and changing area was very clean. The shop on site sells most basic items and is fairly reasonable but we went into the town to the co-operative for most things as it was cheaper. The town is lovely, pleasant people but quite small but nice to have a wander. Overall we had a lovely relaxing holiday again and will definitely be booking to return next yr for our 7th year :)

I have read some of these negative reviews about this park and i really do not understand where some people are coming from.
I have just returned from a weeks holiday with my Wife, 2 Children aged 6 and 3, My Parents who are in there 60's and my sister and bro in law.
We have had a fantastic break and i am really impressed with this park. It is by far the friendliest and cleanest i have been to. I saw staff on a number of occasions collecting rubbish from underneath the caravans and there is even a chap who steams the chewing gum from the main street where all the entertainment is found.
We stopped in a Cornelly 3 bedroom caravan and we found this excellent for our family. The caravan was clean and warm and i have no complaints. I think people need to remember when writing negative comments that you are staying in a van that is occupied all the time.
We ate in the coast bar every night. The food is excellent and the steaks are clearly fresh local produce. Bottles of wine are only £8.95 as well which is a bonus.
There is plenty to do for all ages. For the young children like mine there are arcades, indoor play area, bowlingo, swimming and the shows at night were fantastic.
I really can't fault this place. I will definitely return with my family and recommend it to others. We were quite close to the entertainment and we had no trouble with noise and any i did hear was just people trying to enjoy themselves. After all that's what holidays are all about.

Monday to Friday break, School half term. Firstly the park is huge but first impression very good. Quick check in, lovely and clean throughout the park. Ronda caravan lovely and modern and clean with CentralHeating. All you need for a cheap getaway with kids in October, right next to the beach, 15 min nice walk into Porthcawl all along the beach.
Didn't like that you had to pay for crazy golf (£3 each) and indoor playbarn ( £2 per hour) thought that this should be free for kiddies on a holiday park. Amusements yrs are expensive, family entertainment great. You dont have to leave the park and even if the weather is not good there is plenty of things for the you g and old to do in the parks many entertainment areas and various bars and lovely restraunt which was good value and food I have to say was better than I expected.
Swimming pool was great fun and very clean and very well run, and safe.
Electricity lost at 4am and from calling reception it took just 5 mins for maintainer to knock on our door and fix problem.
Well done Parkdean for an excellent holiday, will be returning.

Just had a great half term holiday at Trecco Bay with the Grandchildren, all staff were helpful and friendly.there was plenty to occupy their minds during the day amusement arcades miniture golf swimming pool etc even went crabbing with them on the beach. On the evening super entertainment every night in the club. We had a Brecon caravan to sleep six it was double glazed and centrally heated and was very comfortable. Porthcawl town centre is only 5 mins away by car or bus.

Room Tip: have a centrally heated and double glazed caravan its worth the extra money.
