We cut our holiday short by one night as the owners of this site made our families feel very unwelcome, we first contacted Brodawel in November/December via E mail to check whether they could first of all accommodate both our tents (8 x 5 Meters and 7 x 4 meters) and the sizes of our families as we are very Big in both departments once they had checked and confirmed we made our booking, we were unable to initiate a deposit as their card machines were not working at that time but they did accept the booking and penciled us in until we could make the deposit, of which we did in early April, we then contacted them again in June to add additional family members, taking our totals to 5 Adults, 10 Children (14 to 2 years), we were greeted with an initial friendly smile and the Exclamation of the Marquee families, and made the payments requested, we were then shown to our pitches and set up, the younger children went to the nearby park (climbing frame and see saw). Day two we stayed on the camp the children had made friends and began doing what kids do best enjoying themselves, approx team time Mr Owner gave us a visit to make sure that we keep our kids under tighter control as they were upsetting the other occupants of the camp, (there were a group of 6 lads running around the camp playing hide and seek) yet because Mr Owner has assumed all of these lads were ours he came to us to insist we have a tighter control on them all, we gathered up the three lads that we were responsible for and informed them that they were not to leave the area in which they could not be seen by us, shortly afterwards Mr Owner was spoken to by the other parents in our group at which point he claimed that he did not know that our tents were as big as they were and that our family sizes were as they were, yet they were aware of this when we booked. The facilities are in adequate and very minimal, despite appearing too look nice on the website the reality doesn't reflect this, to us all this site is interested in is getting as many people in as they can and do as little as they can, Sardines in a can is more of an apt description for this camp, even on the day we left despite loads more space on the field one family were rushed to move their gear so that they could pitch someone else. Closing Notes Beware of The DOG muck there's plenty of it just watch where you stand and take you own loo roll it could be days before it gets replaced!!

Me and my husband came here for a weekend the weather was great the park was clean and it was nice and quiet after 11pm as stated. The shop was very basic I found the customers very friendly but the owners a little ignorant but luckily didn't have to deal with them to much we had a nice meal at the farmers armed which is about a 10 minute walk into nottage village

A friend had booked to stay the weekend and asked if we wanted to join. We like camping and thought it would be fun. They had 3 pitches booked so we were trying to add on the booking as a fourth. We phoned the campsite and they were not the most helpful. Granted it was late in the evening when we called but they said they couldn't give an answer on our booking until they opened the office. Surely if they're answering the business line, they'd have the bookings and availability on hand? When discussing the booking we were asked about the group we are with. I understand that they want minimum trouble, but when I said that it's a family group with kids, the reply I got was "they're the worst ones". A bit rude I think. After leaving my number so they can get back to me when they've clearly discussed and decided whether they wanted to take us on, I heard nothing back when they said they would. I called again 2 days later to be told they're now fully booked. A likely story.
I can only review my experience with the site, and the only experience I've had hasn't been a good one. I am only thrilled to say that we didn't make to the site. Good luck

I have just returned from a night in this campsite, I had a terrible time! When we got there everything seemed ok. In the nightime about 9 O'clock my mother started laughing and she was told to be quiet by the owner; their website says " there is a curfew at 11 O'clock. I thaught this was irrelivant as there was children screaming and shouting! At 4 in the morning I was awoken by a man shouting at his child!. If you want my advice don't bother coming to this site, it may look good on the website but its really not.

Can't really understand peoples comments This site has all the amenities that one should need to camp or tour ,modern updated shower block recycling facilities. The site has a shop where you can get all your needs at a reasonable price .The owners Mike and Diane are always on hand to help even if it's to lend you an electric lead if yours is broken or you forgot to pack it.WiFi is free a big bonus if you got teenagers. This Site is a very friendly campsite even with the seasonal people who would give you a hand if needed. This site is suitable for everyone its quiet and well kept but so close to all the amenities ,3village pubs with in walking distance as is Porthcawl town , treco , and the beach .All in all this is truly a great site great management and very central Terry and I would definitely recommend this site .
