Last night of holiday so we thought we'd treat ourselves to a meal.Arrived around 7pm with a warning of half hour wait for food. No problem . Meal ordered and eaten , 20 minutes later we had to ask to order dessert then 15 minutes later we were asked what we wanted to order. We ordered and ordered coffee at the same time but the coffee machine was not working. We were still waiting 35 minutes later then we decided to speak to management. She apologised but blamed the new staff. Poor skill mix and not even an offer of a good will gesture. Sad because we have visited before and feel let down.

Very disappointed. Waited 40 minutes for food.
Really noisy table next to us. No consideration for other diners.

Poor lighting so couldn't see food.

Ladies toilets smelly & not cleaned.

As a regular not impressed .

The food was lovely and came quickly once ordered but the general service was awful. With the exception of whom I assume to be the landlady, no one smiled and it genuinely felt like we were putting them out being there, particularly the girls behind the bar. We were instructed to "sit anywhere that's not reserved" but then waited ages for anyone to come and take our order. After the main course no one bothered to come see if we wanted desert and I had to go get a waiter to ask for a desert menu. The other detractor from the pub is its decor. It is very old, the carpets are threadbare and stick to your shoes, the light fittings are thick with dust and the toilet seat was missing half its enamel. It just doesn't feel like a nice place to eat (or be generally!), which is a shame because the food was lovely.

First impression was that the whole place looked tired and gloomy. Staff helpful but not attentive. Food was awful, chose something that didn't resemble the description on the menu and it was cold.

Had lunch here and it was not busy at all. Was sat for about 10 minutes before we even saw a waitress and didn't give us menus so we got them ourselves. Had to order drinks at the bar because they hadn't bothered to come get our drinks order. We ordered food with a waitress who seemed very rushed. Food came and was very nice for all of us. We didn't see any waitresses during eating and no one bothered to come and check if our food was ok. After finishing we saw about 3 waitresses come and disappear into the kitchen and peep through the kitchen door. We wanted to order desserts but no one came to ask. As a waitress (very short blonde hair) came and gave desserts to another table I got her attention to come serve us to which she looked at me and walked into the kitchen. By then we had to go ask the bar if someone could come and serve us which one waitress did after she walked through the restaurant with her lunch which she was more interested in. After ordering desserts they came promptly. After this we asked the short blonde haired lady if we could have our bill to which she bluntly said without even looking at us 'you pay at the bar' which was very rude of her. We had enough so we paid and during my partner paying for food the blonde woman came in and out of the kitchen staring and giving me daggers lol. Overall food was great but they need to train the waitresses how to smile and to give good service. Won't be returning until this happens. RUDE RUDE STAFF!! Also waitresses should wear name tags to be identified when writing reviews.
