We stayed on night during our travels around Scotland and wished we'd booked longer

The room we had was spacious and comfortable and not only was the bathroom spacious but my wife enjoyed the bath.

Dinner and breakfast were excellent and we enjoyed the attentive staff.

The bed was blissfully soft and warm and there were a multitude of small touches like the fruit bowl in the room and the iPod dock as part of the TV.

The peace and tranquility was divine, broken only by the occasional seagull and boat motor.

I could have spent an entire week here. There is so much to recommend it. If we had got bored we could have taken a ferry over to Lismore for lots of walks, and there are plenty of walks in the countryside up behind the hotel with maps provided.

Just returned from 3 day break in beautiful Port Appin where it smells of wood burning stoves and the sea...... it is lovely. Stayed at the Pierhouse Hotel and the stay was very chilling and relaxed. The best asset above the food is actually the staff .The staff are a wealth of local knowledge and are very friendly and welcoming. Sitting having a drink watching the hourly ferry to Lismore and all the comings and goings was a education in its self.
Would definitely recommend for short get away from it all breaks .

Room Tip: Pay for the loch view

Thank you for your great review and your really nice comments about the staff. The staff are the single most important aspect in the running of any hotel so it is extremely good news to read what you say. Kind regards Nick

I've had many massages in my life but the massage that I has with Tamsin was absolutely amazing! A big thumbs up and when I'm in the area I would definitely stay at the hotel with its lovely food and make sure that Tamsin is free.

I stayed at The Pierhouse in September on the advice of a friend and loved the warm, welcome atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and personally walked me to my room and showed me the amenities and asked if I would like to book a Finnish sauna. After the rainy walk from the bus stop in Appin it was the perfect way to warm up and settle in. Although I was traveling on a tight budget, I splurged not only on the room, but also dined 1st class in their beautiful dining room overlooking the water. I only wish the weather had been kinder so I could have enjoyed the nice patio for sunset...

Room Tip: book in advance to be sure to get a room as it is small and apparently has a very loyal clientele.

What a wonderful surprise finding this hotel/restaurant at the end of a short single lane road. The views of the loch were magnificent. Rooms are small but very cozy and quiet. Our first morning for breakfast we noticed a boat heading out and thought it was fishermen going out for a morning catch. Instead it was the ferry going to the isle of Lismore with one of the hotel workers. We later learned of a hiking trail on Lismore were we spent our first day wandering along the coast line and through fields with cattle, sheep, horses and lots of ruins. What better was to get to know the country! Back to the hotel for a warm up by the fireplace, a wee dram of whisky and a good beer followed by a wonderful dinner. What a life!

Room Tip: Try and book really early to get a loch view. We had a room right by the main entry door and were surprised how quiet it was.
