Auberge de la Source - Hotel de Charme
Certificate of Excellence

What can I say... Back again and still not disappointed. I defy anyone not to enjoy this hotel.
Food, room, staff all excellent xxxxx
This time I enjoyed a fabulous 1.25 hour massage and had I not booked in for dinner would have slept like a log.
As it was we were then treated to a very special meal. The four night stay was so good we felt like we'd had a fortnight s holiday. Thank you

We stayed here (room 21) for two nights and totally enjoyed every minute of it. It was not difficult to find at all (the property name was listed in our GPS so we didn't have any guesswork with addresses on our part). This is a perfect base, with just a short drive to Honfleur itself where there is abundant parking for daytrippers. The property itself has secure parking in a huge lot next to the property. As echoed by all, the food here is amazing. We opted for half board which came with dinner, and this was perfect because each course was impressive... the chef is clearly skilled. The presentation of each dish itself almost ached me to disturb it to start the meal. There was no menu for our 3 year old so the chef did a chicken and fish on each night, which our little diner had no trouble finishing. Room was utterly charming and we actually looked forward to the drive back to the property after a satisfying day in the town. The lush surroundings was serene, with ponds, streams and space for our kid to run around. Suggest to do the halfboard package... It's an experience to remember.

This auberge is hidden away in a small village about 4 miles from Honfleur. Finding it is a challenge but well worth the effort when you do. Our room (17) was on the second floor and overlooked the tranquil grounds on one side and fields on the other. Dinner was excellent on the two nights we were there with a choice of two for each of three courses plus cheese and was excellent value for money though the wines were expensive. Breakfast was also good with a selection of breads, croissants, cereals, jams, juices, fruit etc. The one niggle during our stay was the morning we were leaving there was a problem producing our bill due to a 'computer problem' and so it had to be written out. This took time as there was just one member of staff who was also responsible for keeping the breakfast buffet topped up and handling other guests queries etc. It's as well to remember that this is an auberge so are few staff.

We spend one night in the family room last week-end. the beds are really comfortable and the heating brilliant. Nicely recently refurbished deco, if a bit plain. but beautiful and tasteful. The diner was delicious. the prix fix menu leaves you just enough choice to be happy and all was perfect . Designed and well maintained gardens. Certainly a place to go back to. also the staff was helpful and smiling. always a plus .

Room Tip: Remember to ask about the bath, at least one room has it in the bedroom itself with no intimacy what...

This is our second stay at this lovely hotel. Last year, we were eight separated into three rooms. This year, just four but reserved family room that was to be two floors with separate entrance. Unfortunately, when we arrived that room had been rented already through a booking error. Arnaud, whom we remembered from last year as so nice and helpful, solved the problem by providing us with two rooms in a private hallway, but charging us only for the family room. We had a lovely stay because of his hospitality by making the situation right.

The grounds are very serene and welcoming. The rooms are delightful and very clean with modern bath facilities. Both were lovely and overlooked the courtyard.

We booked dinner again this year in the restaurant and were not disappointed. Many guests seemed to go into Honfleur to eat, but they are missing out on a wonderful gourmet meal. Arnaud was also our waiter and was so attentive wanting to make sure we all enjoyed the food. Prix fix, with a lovely pâté starter or oysters, My wife had oysters, which she reported very good. The pâté was delicious, but by far the cabillaud with sesame and poppy seed crust main course was the most impressive. The dessert was unfortunately not spectacular, which was rather surprising given how wonderful the other food was. But the next day's breakfast was very good with meats, cheeses, yogurt, breads and undoubtedly some of the best croissants we've ever had. It is not inexpensive at 14€ per person, but it is a very nice spread.

We think fondly of Auberge de la Source because they've treated us so very well as guests. We will return again.

My daughter, my husband and I had an absolutely lovely say at the auberge de la source. We stayed here for 3 nights being a part of our Europe tour.
We had 2 rooms decorated in such a special and warm way. All the rooms seem to have been refurbished very lastly. We also had two wonderful dinners there. The Chef Yannick seemed to just love his job. That's what we felt in his very tasty cuisine. The value of the dinner was fair and the fire place is a big big plus in winter. Don't stay there if you have no car as the only thing you could do is hiking in the very near forest or borrow one of their bikes. However it's very quite and the gardens are gorgeous. If we have the opportunity to go back to Normandy we will definitely return to this fantastic auberge.
