We went to Downey's farm with the intention of visiting the petting zoo and riding on a hay wagon but we didn't get past the giant pumpkin display at the entrance to the farm. My toddler spent over an hour climbing over the thousands of pumpkins at the entrance. It took him so long to pick the perfect one to take home. Then we went into the market to pay for the pumpkin and he found lots of interesting things there to play with also. We spent almost 2 hours there in total, he had a blast, and we never made it into the actual farm- therefore never paid any admission. We bought 2 large, perfect pumpkins and some delicious yellow beans all for less than $10. It was a great morning.

If you want to experience Autumn at its best, go to this farm which has a huge pumpkin display every year. It also has a nearby Apple Farm .

In their store, they sell different stuff like ice cream, home made pies, and doughnuts and even have their own award winning wines.

Its a good place to bring young children for Fall activities.

We have been here dozens of times. We often go while on a Sunday drive. We took our grand-daughters there - 9 and 11 - during the week so the cost of admission was much less than on the weekend. The girls played mini-golf, rode the hay wagon, spent time in the petting zoo feedling the goats and sheep, etc. Yes, it costs money but, during the summer, it's much cheaper during the week - about $5.00 per person. We also go into the store and buy fresh fruit and baked goods. Their pumpkin donuts are the best! We have tried their wines - I like the Maple wine best of all - quite sweet, more like a dessert wine. They also have fudge - too tempting. They also have honey, chutney, jams, etc. Good but a bit pricey for small jars. In the fall, they have pumpkinfest. Pony rides for the kids, games, etc. I have not purchased pumpkins there as they are too expensive. As far as I can tell, you pay by the pound - too much. This place is a fun stop while on a drive. We have always found the people to be friendly but not cloying. I prefer this, myself.

We buy a lot of our fruits and vegetables here because we know they are fresh. they have a great selection at their bakery counter of fresh homemade pies, cakes, breads etc. Also a good selection of homemade products. there is a separate area with Downey Estate wines that are very good. they allow sampling and have someone there to answer all your questions
