The Mascot mine is an old abandoned mining camp perched on the side of a very steep cliffside near the top of a mountain. The guided tour takes about 4 hours but almost half of this is driving up and back down the mountain. This old abandoned mine is really worth seeing but be warned, there are a lot of steps (about 600 down and then the same back up) so you should be in reasonably good shape to go. We had two guides for the tour and although one was excellent (I think his name was Derek) the other was really bad. He seemed disinterested and probably should be left to driving the bus. It's only open a few days a week so check before going.
