We took the ferry over and had a wonderful romantic dinner. My husband had the duck. I had the Mahi Mahi with tarragon sauce. Excellent.

Dear Patricia D

Thanks for your positive review of Rainforest. I see from your reviews of other restaurants in Marigot Bay that you didn't find satisfaction everywhere, so your comment is an assessment of relative value - which increases our appreciation.

Dear Undene Crew

Many thanks for dining at Rainforest. We are, admittedly, one of the more expensive restaurants in Marigot - but my hope is that the price is invested well to produce value in the dining experience. I should point out that we have not put our prices up in more than three years - despite our recent listing as "One of the Top Ten Fine Dining Restaurants in the Caribbean - 2013".

“a romantic waterfront hideaway”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

catch the tiny free ferry over the water to arrive at the hideaway's jetty and enjoy the twinkling lights and atmosphere of Marigot Bay, where the old film version of Dr. Doolittle was filmed. Order the prawn risotto dish. EC Dollars 130 for 2 courses if I remember correctly and a little more for 3 courses.

Dear Jo_lee_spain

Thanks for taking the time to file a review of Rainforest. You are correct with pricing - EC$130 (US$48) for a two course dinner (main plus appetiser or desert) or EC$160 (US$59) for all three courses. All diners also receive a bruschetta and an amuse bouche, compliments of the Chef......

The pricing is not much different from comparable fine dining restaurants in Europe or North America - but since we rely heavily on imported materials, our costs can be higher when freight and import duties are factored in.

“Great meal, cool atmosphere”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

We ate here twice - food excellent. One meal was really slow, the other perfect. Couldn't get in again, but would absolutely recommend it.

Dear Jane W

Thanks for taking the trouble to write a review of your experience at Rainforest - and for the high rating and recommendation. My apologies for the slow service on one of the visits. We have been full every night over the Christmas/New Year period and lost some wait staff to illnesses - a seasonal hazard. It cannot have spoiled your experience to much as you were trying to come back for a third time..!

Thanks for the review

Dear Timinguy

Thanks for your very positive review of Rainforest. Lovely complement - and our sights are now set beyond the Windwards - since our latest award from TripAdvisor listed us as one on the "Top Ten Fine Dining Restaurants in the Caribbean" - competing from Puerto Rico all the way down to Aruba. Perhaps I need a vacation to go check out the competition..!

Thanks for the review.
