We stayed at the Inn on the Bay in November lasty year. Normand was an absolute fantastic host- Nothing was too much trouble, and he was happy to organise, advise and suppor without being pushy. His willingness to fetch us to and fro from the Bay was much appreciiated.

The setting is breathtaking, and meeting up with the other guests in the morning over breakfast and the glorious bay view at the same time was awe inspiring.

The rooms were spacious, well maintained and ver y clean. There was plenty of choice for breakfast.

Louise (Normand's better half) was always there with a smile and a steady hand to Normand's enthusiasm.
We would recommend this is a brilliant place for anyone.

We have just returned from a wonderful, relaxing stay
at "The Inn on the Bay" owned and hosted by Norman
and Louise Viau. This small Inn sits a top Marigot
Bay on St. Lucia and offers one of the most spectacular views in the Caribbean. The hosts, Norman and Louise, are attentive and very thoughtful as they help with all your island plans and arrangements. They provide a marvelous morning
breakfast with fesh baked goods, island fruits,
juice and a very memorable cup of coffee. Their rooms are spacious and confortable with a marvelous view of Marigot Bay below. If you're planning a trip to St. Lucia we highly suggest you book your stay here
as you could not ask for a more accomodating host,
comfortable room, or view of magnificent Marigot Bay.

We stayed with Normand and Louise over the New Year. Our verdict was that The Inn on the Bay was fabulous. The holiday was made for us by the welcoming attitudes of our hosts. They really could not do enough to ensure that the holiday was successful. However it would be wrong to think that Normand or Louise are in any way intrusive - because they are not. They have 'hosting' off to a fine art and they will not be phased by anything.

Much has been written about the location and views from this lovely property and they really are stunning.

We enjoyed the breakfasts and the walks down to Marigot Bay and also down to the little beach behind the Inn. The views of the sunsets from the Inn's decking area at the rear were truly fabulous.

A taxi excursion we loved was the Friday Night Jump Up when we went to a nearby resort to eat fish and drink beer with the locals. We found the local people to be very very friendly and welcoming.

We walked down the Inn's 300 steps to swim in the Bay that was good for snorkelling but I think the water is clearer on the far side. We ate in the restaurants in the Bay but we did not get to the Rainforest since it was closed - the others were OK.

The rooms were bright, well maintained and spotlessly clean. I enjoyed having the larger, airy room much bigger than the boxes you get with hotel chains. There is always a breeze at the top of this headland and that seemed to keep away any flies or mosquitos.

The weather was not the best since it rained on just about every one of the five days we were there. This did not spoil this short break in any way.

I substantiate every positive comment about the Inn on the Bay and would encourage anyone who wants a quiet holiday in a truly beautiful setting to come here - it really is lovely.

My wife and I have just spent thirteen wonderful days at the Inn on the bay and I would recommend this place to everyone. We had a lovely clean, bright room and the view over the bay which you never tire of is truly amazing. Also, top marks to Louise and Normand for their wonderful hospitality which made our stay just perfect. M.Marsh, Greenwich, ENGLAND.

The Inn is a lovely place to stay. The view from the pool/deck areas is beautiful on both sides. The rooms are comfortable and quaint. Plus, the owners of the Inn (Normand & Louise) are friendly and rather helpful. They assisted my wife and I in planning our daily excursions and offered free transportation to the closest town which was a few minutes a way by car and 10-15 minutes away on foot. In addition, the Inn has one feature that many of the other hotels and resorts in the area do not have: screens on the windows. My wife and I stayed at another place on the island and had frequent visits by lizards and frogs. This may not seem like a big deal, but for Americans from a cold weather climate who are not used to such guests, it was unpleasent. We know from reviews we read about other hotels and reorts in St. Lucia that our experience in the second place we stayed was not unique to that resort; many hotels and resorts on the island do not have screens. If I am ever able to visit St. Lucia again, I will definitely try to book a room at the Inn on the Bay. We had a great stay there and it was very affordable compared to the other inns/resorts on the island.

We stayed with Normand and Louise for a couple of days and after several weeks touring the US and staying in hotels it was a refreshing change to feel we were being welcomed into someones home.

Breakfasts and Normands transfer service were great and the position can´t be beat. This has to be one of the best spots to stay, particularly with the construction currently taking place further down the Bay.

Rooms were large, clean, simple and comfortable. Back deck had beautiful views of the sea at sunset and is protected on windy days.

We had a great time on our honeymoon. It is nice and quiet, large comfortable rooms and superb views and breakfasts. The hosts are really friendly and have lots of information on stuff to do locally - we saw a lot more than the folk on package tours. It's 280(ish) steps down the cliff to the water where you can snorkel, or 1km to the beach. At the beach there are lots of good restaurants but the road is pretty terrible. However, Normand the owner will drive you down or pick you up. We'd recommend hiring a 4x4 to really explore the island - it's incredibly beautiful and worth getting off the beaten track. (If you're feeling a bit adventurous you can save on the cab fare to the inn by taking a taxi to Vieux Fort, then a local bus to Castries, then a taxi from there. It's far cheaper and good fun, and doesn't take much longer.)
