When we left St Lucia I told the owners that I almost never give 5 stars for a rating; a place has to earn it. The Hummingbird Hangout did. Right from first contact it was apparent that service is their strength. My wife noticed a yoga mat in one of their pictures and asked if one was there. There wasn't, but they went out and purchased one for her, so now there is one for anyone else. We were able to borrow some of their spare snorkelling gear instead of bringing our own. There was a small problem with the coffee maker, and when it was pointed out, they purchase a new one immediately. Our flight was delayed getting there by 2 1/2 hours so they had a few groceries waiting for us when we arrived. We took them up on a lot of their suggestions, all of which worked out great. The actual Hummingbird Hangout is very open and airy. It has great, uninterrupted views of the ocean and the coast line. Sunsets are spectacular. But my favourite part was sitting in the lounge chairs with my morning coffee watching the fishermen set their nets, and the boats leaving Marigot Bay for the day. And yes, there are hummingbirds. The Hangout is a bit off the beaten track. Although we don't mind walking, we took their suggestion and rented a vehicle which worked out great. I think, for us, the ideal would have been to rent their vehicle every now and then, and walk the rest of the time. Unfortunately their vehicle wasn't available at the time. This is a great place to go and relax, away from the crowds, in the heart of nature, and yet it's a short walk to Marigot Bay and all it's amenities.
