“Highly recommended place to stay”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

My wife found this place for our two day stay on Angullia during our ten day vacation. We can't say enough wonderful things about everything at this resort from the awesome friendly staff, the room, and the best beach ever. After the short boat ride over to the island the people of Anguilla are so friendly to vistors. The resort treated us like we were family from the time we got there till the day we departed. The room was not huge but was very comfortable. The area and scenery around the resort is what you see on tv or in magazines. I for sure recommend you be there on a thursday night when they do a dinner buffett with entertainment. Loved both the food and music. I noticed during dinner that many locals were eating too so I knew we was at a good place. Staying here reminded me of growing in the mountains with all the beautiful scenery just throw in a beach with crystal clear water a short walk away. Love this place and can't wait to go back because this place is what most people dream about visiting. Thank you again to the wonderful staff who treated us like family and made it fun for our 11 month old son.

Just returned from perhaps our 10th visit to this wonderful hotel. It gets better all the time- the owners care deeply about the quality of the Property and the people who work it. This is Anguilla. Leave your pretenses behind and forget about your woes. Enjoy this peaceful spot on the planet with genuine people who live, love and care. One week is simply not enough!

Having lived on this island for years, this property has to offer a good representation of what this island is about..unspoiled nature, long, sugary white sand beaches and warm, friendly local people who are proud of their island home.

One of the island's best beaches is at the end of their property just a short walk away from the rooms. My superior room was large and clean with a view of the gardens. The staff is friendly, helpful and aim to please you and make your holiday an enjoyable experience. One of the staff members recognized me from an Easter brunch from almost 10 years ago which was absolutely remarkable!

I did not eat there because I keep a specialty diet and would not have found anything on their menu for it but there are many options close by the property for dining outside the hotel as well as a supermarket with convenience items very nearby.

It's located at the far west end of the island so as long as you don't plan commuting to the far east end of the island for other things on a daily basis this should be fine. The island is relatively small anyway.

Enjoy your stay!

Michelle

Room Tip: I chose a room on the second level to appreciate the beautiful gardens.

We were there in low season (beginning of December 2012). It was very quiet and what we expected. Upon arrival, we were greeted by very friendly staff and a very strong rum punch (delicious). Our room was great! Very comfy bed, nice seating area, large shower, good deck. There is a bit of a walk to the beach, but it's mostly on hotel property and not a big deal. But once at the beach there is a beach bar that has BBQ for lunch.

The hotel is by Meads Bay, one of the best beaches in Anguilla. Beautiful and the water is warm.

Staff , again, were very friendly, and very professional. They helped us make restaurant reservations, rent bikes and interacted and laughed with us each night (4 nights we were there).

I recommend this hotel. Good island experience!

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel twice in the past couple of years, (2011 & 2012 - read our previous reviews). Ever since our first visit to Anguilla a few years ago, we have always dreamed of a "family" vacation to Anguilla with our 3 adult children, son-in law and our 3 year old grand daughter.

Because we are repeat guests, this boutique hotel will be making our dream come true in the summer of 2013. Through their various special pricing offers (loyalty discount/early booking specials), along with the hotel's unique, 3 bedroom, 3 bath stand alone unit, The Anacaona reservation staff was willing to work with us on an affordable rate and the dates we needed to make our family-dream vacation become a reality.

When we made our initial inquiry to see what the hotel could do for us via email, we received an immediate response back from the Reservation Manager, Kenisha Granville, who not only remembered us, but remembered opening up the hotel's gift shop for us one day so we could purchase some items during our last visit to the hotel. How's that for a memory AND service!

Anyway, Kenisha worked with us (along with Frank Pierce, the Director of Sales, who also contacted us!) like we were family in making our dream come true. We are so looking forward to introducing our entire family to the Anacaona "family" this coming summer.

This level of customized service with this hotel is not unique in our case, we have found. They strive to treat all their guests, (returning or not) with the expectation that guests will want to book with them on any returning Anguilla trips, because of their attention to treating every guest special.

The first time we booked at Anacaona, we were treated like family. If you're the type of traveler who prefers to book the same hotel/resort because the familiarity of staff and management is important to you, then this little boutique hotel is for you!

My husband and I had a one night stay recently in one of the Superior Rooms. The rooms are adequate and clean; all white washed with lots of windows. The bathrooms are also adequate with a nice large shower. Lighting in the room is not abundant however, but when I mentioned this in the survey the hotel asked me to complete they said they are aware and plan to remedy this. I truly believe the manager's and owner's want to make the Anacaona an affordable option for visitors and seem to be committed to this goal. The check-in was seamless and they granted us a late check out upon our request. The desk clerk even let me print our boarding passes using her office computer.

We also enjoyed the complimentary manager's cocktail party that we happened upon as we stayed on a Monday night. We did not sample the food, but did use the beach chairs and lobby bar. Mead's Bay has some big waves for body surfing and a few other restaurant choices within walking distance of the Anacaona.

We would definitely recommend the hotel as an affordable option on the island of Anguilla.

Just back from a short trip to Anguilla, my first trip to the island. It's true what they say about the people: Anguillans are incredibly friendly and genuinely nice, and that's what's best about the Anacaona. The staff are all welcoming and want to make your stay memorable. This intangible, the top-notch food and relatively good rate more than offset any concerns re the just-okay adequacy of the rooms and overall decor. Would return!
