Three of us ordered a selection of starter, main course, and sweet, from the 20 Euro set meal menu. I ordered a salad with slices of duck; there was melon sliced, lettuce, tomato, and the sliced duck, which was of moderate quality. My main course, also chosen by my wife, was beef with a sauce francaise, vegetables and fried potatoes. The beef was skirt, should not have been grilled, was not rare, as requested, and half of it was uncuttable, the rest very coarse and chewy. The vegetables were heavily diced and over-cooked. The potato was quite pleasant. My mother-in-law had skate which was large (old) and very stringy, mostly inedible. The sweet we had was creme caramel with little flavour and mixed with a sort of chocolate sauce, and the caramel slice was too hard to eat. My mother-in-law had a tart which was obviously out of a catering pack, was rock hard instead of crumbly, as it should be, and it had some artificial red sauce and cream poured over it; she was so disgusted by the meal she shoved the plate away remarking loudly,"this is the worst meal I have ever had". This is the second time we have visited this restaurant, previously with my daughter's family, and although that occasion was bearable neither meal was good. This latest travesty of a meal means we will never go there again! Nice people but they just cannot cook!
