Nightingale House is a comfortable B&B located a short distance from Cornwall, Ontario. The B&B owners, Lesley and Stuart, are friendly and welcoming, and put on a delicious and nutritious breakfast.
The house was built in the 1880s in one of the "Lost Villages" along the St Lawrence River and was moved to Ingleside prior to the flooding for the Seaway in the late 1950s. The house retains its Victorian atmosphere with antique furnishings in the bedrooms and small sitting rooms. The bedrooms and shared bathroom, all on the second floor, are immaculate. My bedroom had an small attached sitting room from which I could see the river.
There's a fireplace in the living room for cool evenings, where I enjoyed a pot of tea when I arrived after a two hour drive.
I would recommend the Nightingale House for people seeking a reasonably priced B&B in the 401 corridor between Montreal and Kingston.
