For the fourth time, we stayed at Le Lavandin B & , B in Provence in June, 2014. It is a slice of paradise situated near a small Provencal town, Pernes-les-Fountaine. Georgia, the innkeeper, is in her 14th year, after moving from the US to France to build this oasis surrounded by gorgeous gardens. The breakfasts are substantial and varied, and Georgia provides personalized planning for exploring the small towns of Provence. The lodging, in a guesthouse with 4 beautifully but simply furnished rooms plus a studio apartment, is complete with an ample patio overlooking Provence, and an outdoor kitchen. There is also a pool to enjoy, a beautiful lavender field and gardens with tables and chairs. Don't miss this jewel in Provence-it is the perfect place to launch an exploration of the region. We will definitely return! Website: lelavandinprovence.com

Room tip: The guest lodge is 2 stories; we enjoy one of the 2 rooms on the second story as there is a patio outside the bedroom.

My husband and I have just returned from our 8th stay with the incomparable Georgia at the most amazing Le Lavandin. It really is a little piece of heaven in Provence. There is really no way to describe all of the wonderful days that pass during your visit from markets in the tiny villages surrounding Pernes, to the incredible restaurants that Georgia will direct you towards to the scrumptious breakfasts that will begin your day under the blooming trees in Georgia's garden.
If you have a bucket list, Le Lavandin should be on it.

It was my third visit to Georgia Perrin's perfect piece of Provencal Heaven, Le Lavandin, and my first time to experience one of her special week-long programs. I've dreamed of participating in her French Cooking Week, but no amount of dreaming could have prepared my husband and I for what was to come! With her signature style--making it all look effortless--Georgia guided eight of us (none of us having known more than one other person in the group before arriving) through a culinary adventure like nothing any of us could have imagined. We cooked, we laughed, we dined in after cooking classes and dined out on days we didn't cook. We sampled french wines after walking the vineyards to understand the soil from which the grapes came. We began each morning wide eyed at breakfast (which was Georgia's own culinary contribution to each day) and ended each evening as a group recounting our unforgettable moments, while enjoying a nightcap on Le Lavandin's Grande Terrace. We all had the same dawning realization that this experience was like nothing any of us could ever recreate. This is a not-to-be-missed week with Georgia for anyone who loves cooking in as much as dining out and wants to experience the perfect mix of both in the most beautiful corner of Provence. We'll be back to Le Lavandin again and again--and will always recall that magical week of French Cuisine with Madame Perrin and the amazing chefs she brought together (not to mention their equally amazing hospitality as we dined at their restaurants) to shared their culinary talents with us. Magnificent!

Room tip: Ask for an upstairs room if you like the idea of a generous balcony terrace with views of the property. Ask for a downstairs room if you like the idea of walking right out your door onto a lovely shaded patio in the garden. And if you are looking for an extended stay, the studio with its own kitchen is ideal.

There is no better place to be your base of operations in Provence! The owner, Georgia Perrin, has created a wonderful little retreat. Gorgeous grounds, extremely hospitable care, the best breakfasts you could hope for. Georgia is also an excellent guide! To aid you in your travels she will give you a huge road map and every trip you want to take will be outlined with a colored highlighter and some destinations will come with her personalized, pre-printed driving directions. I recommend the upstairs rooms in the guesthouse because they come with a terrace and corresponding view (but they do cost extra). I can't say enough about this wonderful, wonderful place. We spent 8 days (9 nights) at Le Lavandin and then left for London. But we wish we had done it the other way around to end our vacation here!

Room tip: Upstairs in the guesthouse gives you a semi-private terrace but the cost is higher.

Le Lavandin, and its owner, Georgia Perrin, can't be captured in words. So, no matter what I write here, know that this wonderful little Bed and Breakfast in Provence is even more delightful and charming and beautiful than anything I can say about it! You must go in person and I recommend that you do so before you plan another vacation anywhere else!

After my husband and I spent time at Le Lavandin last year, we were so enamored of it and Georgia that we decided to bring our children back this year. We just spent a full week there, with our entire family, including adult children and spouses and young grandchildren, 12 of us in all. Every one of us, from ages 3 to 62, are in love with this place. Every aspect of Le Lavandin has been envisioned and created by the remarkable Georgia Perrin, and she and her equally lovable assistant Rashida are the most gracious hosts you could possibly ever imagine. Together they serve an extensive and gorgeous breakfast every morning, and Georgia also doubles as a veritable fount of information for where to go, what to do, who to ask for--she is a concierge extraordinare. But you may not want to leave this beautiful, private property and its world class gardens, impeccably clean and tastefully decorated rooms, and numerous charming patios and common areas. Every aspect of Le Lavandin has been fashioned with attention to detail and is intended to nurture the senses and feed your soul. Plenty of space for both private retreat as well as group gathering. I could go on and on, but simply put, Le Lavandin is a magical place.

Once you settle in at Le Lavandin you won't want to leave.
