Completely brilliant weekend. Was supposed to be a hen do, but when some of the girls dropped out, some of us lads got invites instead, so it turned into a hen/stag/family party, and goodness me did we party! Fantastic location, fabulous experience, the cottage is very comfortable, everything there that you need, tea, coffee and sugar, but you do need to take your own milk. And booze - we got through plenty of that! The hot-tubs were well used pretty much 24/7, well worth the extra charge! The activities on the Saturday were done with some very sore heads, but running round after sheep and pigs soon cleared everyone up! No-one realised that sheep were so fast and pigs were so adept and taking the mickey! Cheeky little pigs. Tractor driving was ace, despite the attentions of Bernard the randy tup. I still think they should rename him Sticky. Sticky Tup. (He was rather desperate to get into the field opposite with the lady sheep. I can't imagine why!) Emily was an exceptionally good organiser. Barbecue was delicious and the treasure hunt was a nice walk with some hilariously bad map reading. The walk across a field of nursing cows being watched by an ENORMOUS bull was beyond terrifying! Post adventure partying soon resumed and another night of drunken hilarity ensued.
Great weekend, over far too quickly. Very reassuring to know our beef is produced by people that are so caring towards their animals and that the animals themselves were so content. I've never seen calves frolicking before. Did we even know calves frolicked? And 3 week old calves are just the most gorgeous things. I hope they all taste as good as they looked.
