“What a lunch and what service - FABULOUS”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

I had a business meeting at the Black Sheep Bistro with a colleague to discuss marketing some new ideas. We both eat out frequently and - hence - are critical of service and food. The welcome was warm - the service cheerful and friendly. The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD - I had the vegetarian lasagne and my colleague the gammon. Both arrived piping hot - and on hot plates (a must for me) We then had the most delicious desserts - treacle tart for me and jam roly poly for him. They were so good we had to share them to check they were so good. We waddled out being totally replete having been sent off with a warm 'see you again soon' You sure will!

“Groupon offer!”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

We bought this offer for £15 for two with tour and lunch at the Black Sheep Brewery from Groupon. What a bargain we got! We arrived late for our tour due to car issues but were told we could have our lunch first instead before the next tour. Lunch was awesome! I had fish pie while my partner had the black sheep cured gammon which looked amazing! We even opted for ice cream for afters :) The tour was run by a lovely elderly gentleman who certainly knew his stuff :D The tour is pretty short but you get to see the ins and outs of the brewery old and new which are both pretty fascinating. Don't forget to stop off at the gift shop! We spent quite a bit of money there he he :) All in all a great bargain which we would have paid full price for :D

“Perfect New Years Eve”
Reviewed February 3, 2013 via mobile

As we where visiting the area for a few days we arranged and booked the brewery tour. We arrived early and had a coffee and was planning to have lunch afterwards after seeing lots of reservation signs we booked a table which was a great decision as it got so busy. The tour was excellent then we settled down to order food. The food was lovely although one of our party reported his sausage was only warm, perhaps it had been keeping warm this was only a minor issue and the restaurant was very very busy and the staff where rushed off their feet. Great value for money and obviously a popular spot to eat. We would recommend.

“A wonderful meal was had by all !”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

Whilst visiting our son and daughter in law we decided to go and visit The Black Sheep Brewery. We had been before a number of years ago but our son has been a few times. There were 5 adults and our 18 month old grandson. It was the weekend before Christmas and although we had not booked a table they were very accommodating. We were seated upstairs at a very large round table and we had a wonderful meal. We all had three courses and a drink plus a childs meal and drink - it was wonderful. The food was excellent. Two of our party chose from the christmas menu.
The staff were great and they had some christmas crackers left from the evening before and our grandson thought they were great. We have already made plans to book for New year 2013.

The brewery tour is very interesting and factual. The shop sells all sorts of interesting things aswell as the wonderful black sheep beers.

On a cold January day we decided to visit as my 19 year old son likes the product and a proud Yorkshire man! He did the 3.30 tour which was just him and the guide and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the process of beer making. My son just missed Mr Theakston who was in trying the products which was a shame as he'd loved to have spoken to him. Meanwhile my husband and I enjoyed coffee and cake in the bistro and will definitely return for lunch. After the tour we purchased a rugby shirt, pint glass and a sheep tie and cuff links for my son to wear to a wedding next month. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. We'll definitely return and also had a lovely walk around the centre of Masham.
