This is a review of the pub only, not the hotel. A group of about 8 of us popped in this morning having been glamping close by, and 3 of us ordered a cup of tea. The place was completely empty, we were being quiet and minding our own business. After about 20 minutes, a man who I can only assume was the landlord approached and, unprovoked, gave us an incredibly rude and aggressive speech, essentially telling the people who hadn't ordered anything to get lost. We were told that we weren't 'in Manchester anymore', that he was there to make money, and to 'disappear'. It would have been fine if the place was busy, if he'd have asked if any one else wanted to order anything (they did), if he'd have asked us politely (in which case we would have apologised and left politely), or if we'd been rude or aggressive first. None of these things happened, and even those of us who had bought a drink were so disgusted that we left straight away. I have no idea how anyone who claims to work in hospitality could justify being so condescending and vile. Even as we were leaving, like he'd asked, he continued to make sarcastic and arrogant comments. Absolutely and unnecessarily dreadful. Never again.
