“Excellent Spanish Night”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

We had a really good Spanish night here. Good tapas, paella and sangria. Staples still available from the main menu. Really welcoming hosts and particularly helpful with our two dogs. Good position close to the market square.

Only stopped here for a meal .Found this to be excellent .Good selection of food on offer .We had good old fish and chips and steak pie .Having had many of both over tyhe years this was one of the very best .
My advice if you`re looking for a meal in Masham don`t walk past this establishment .

Room Tip: Only had meal here but if rooms are anything to go with meals you won`t go far wrong...

We went to this pub for a drink before going to the Black Sheep bistro on our first night in Masham. The atmosphere was great and when we saw the quality of the food coming through we decided to book for the following night. We were not disappointed. Fantastic food, great beer and friendly staff. Definitely going again when we return to Masham.

Second time of eating here, pie is awesome, the tenderest beef ever and excellent pastry. Hubbie had fish and chips, huge portion, lovely white fish, and peas good quality. Great choice of ale and wine, friendly staff and landlady is great fun, love the dogs wandering about, great dales pub, and flying the flag for Masham etc. long forward to visiting in winter

Room Tip: We only ate here, can't comment on rooms

We visited back in May 2012 for my husbands birthday and agin it came to his birthday again and what more could a man wish for a weekend in Masham!! We booked 2 rooms £80 each rooms 5 & 6 on the 3rd floor. Excellent rooms with shower room and tiolet. Lovely cooked breakfast with a smile. You are made to feel at home at all times. We have now decided to visit every year and may try out the cottage they also have. Many thanks (great lattes)

Room Tip: Rooms 5 & 6 rooms are very nice

We enjoyed our stay. It is what it says on the pub's information, a local pub with lots of regulars, and it does get busy on weekend nights. If you want a corporate-style hotel it's not for you, but if you like a cosy inn, you will like this one. We paid extra for a large room, it was ok, but not overly large, so the regular rooms must be smallish. Our room was at the top of the building, up a lot of steep stairs. The room and shower room were clean and nicely furnished, but we could've done with better lighting in the bedroom. The breakfasts are large and nicely cooked, and the waiting staff friendly. The evening meals were ok, but a bit limited in choice, with lots of pies and chips with almost everything. Nice, home made chips, but it's nice to have an alternative. A good base for walkers and for exploring the area.

Room Tip: Pay extra for the larger room, (if you can manage stairs ok).
