Pros: good hotel for the price.
Good clean rooms and very close to the beach.
Pretty helpful and friendly staff.

Cons: Small rooms/beds/showers. (but price is cheap, so its a compromise i guess)
Fairly old building so can get a big noisy depending on who you neighbors are.

Stayed one night before taking the morning ferry. Booked a twin room with shower but was put into a connecting double/twin arrangement as the twin had only a washbasin. We were the only guests in the hotel so can't comment on any noise etc as it was only us.
The rooms, very basic were only just warm enough but the bathroom had no heating and was cold. The beds were fine.
We did expect to be able to eat an evening meal there, as we had done on our previous visit, but it seems that things have changed and there was no restaurant and we didn't stay for breakfast as we had an early start.
We chose the hotel for it's proximity to the ferry, only 10 mins drive and it's price but it's probably worth paying a bit more for a better hotel.

My wife and I arrived in France on the ferry from Portsmouth at 21.30h. I had informed the hotel that we would be arriving after 20.00h as requested. The hotel was in complete darkness when we arrived, the street light on the opposite side of the road gave very little light. I went to the door to find a bell but saw a note attached to the glass on the inside and could just about make out my name. Fortunately I had a torch in the car and was able to read the note telling me to go through a side gate and find our room. This was in an out building like a shed, the door was open and the key was in the lock. It was clean but very basic, no bed side light, there was a low step across the floor, a good tripping point. The shower and toilet were in a room off the main room, also very basic.

Reception was friendly and helpful but the room on second floor very tired and to be honest had a 'sleazy hotel' feel to it. Bed seemed clean enough which is main thing for a one night stopover but the road was noisy and I felt that I may as well have been sleeping with next door guests (soundproofing 0).
Handy for ferry terminal, however hotel is desperate for makeover and there are no nearby facilities if you are desperate for a beer or food.

After reading some of the other reviews on here I was quite worried about staying here. It was the first night of our holiday and we arrived quite late at night. We rang the bell at the front door and were told our room number and directed to the side entrance. The room was clean and a decent size and the bathroom was also clean. The breakfast was plentiful and good. Very good value for money.

The Hotel Le Canada is a great place to stay when visiting the battlefields. The hotel has one of the lowest prices in the region. There are rooms in the hotel and in a separate building, (a series of rooms attached together). The Internet worked good and the room was clean. It was a good value for the money. It appeared the owner does not speak English, (which was fine because I had a guide who speak French). The owner is trusting - they leave the outside rooms unlocked with the keys in the door. I guess if you come late, you take a room and pay for it in the morning (???)

Room Tip: I liked the rooms in the outbuilding.

Excellent little hotel, great service, good breakfast. Quiet location. Nice room and very clean.
It is a little far from town, but if you have a car then no problem. Proprietor was very nice and helpful.
