“Shocking service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2013

A member of staff at the Juno Beach Centre recommended Au P'tit Mousse to us - she must have had a very different experience to us!

One doesn't go to France for the friendly service, and I actually don't mind a bit of gruffness in waiting staff, but the proprietor/manageress of this restaurant was beyond rude. She told us she could accommodate a child and provide a high chair, then continuously ignored us - we eventually had to go and get our buggy for our toddler to sit in. We tried to get a menu for ages, whilst other people who came in afterwards got theirs and when I finally got annoyed with her, she tossed them at us and shrugged saying it was very busy.

We then waited absolutely ages for our food, which is a nightmare with kids - we had only ordered galettes, which don't take long to prepare, but it was about an hour! Meanwhile, table after table was walking out (at least they weren't being discriminatory - French patrons suffered equally from the rude service as well). We should have walked out ourselves, but I was worried we'd have to start again with another long wait. Other tables got in arguments with the proprietor, as they were given food they hadn't ordered, but she wouldn't budge.

To be fair, the food was actually quite tasty once we finally got it, and there was a male waiter in a different section valiantly trying to serve angry customers, but none of this makes up for the terrible service - probably the worst I have ever encountered.

“Excellent lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2013

While visiting Juno Beach, we just wondered in Courseulles-sur-mer and stopped at the first restaurant we saw. We were not disappointed.

We had moules and frites, and a local club-sandwich, very delicious and not expensive.

Service was OK, no problem.

Good place for lunch, I would not go for diner.

“Good seafood in a picturesque location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

The food and the restaurant are nice and very nautical but the staff seem to favour locals over tourists when it comes to table allocation and service.

On the recommendation of he hotel receptionist, we trooped down to P'tit Mousse! Amazing!

The food was fantastic and he prices was unbeatable- 3 course meal for 20 euros!

It was so good, we returned there for a seconds time, and the staff remembered us and how we liked our food prepared.

“Superb view of the harbour. Good mussels”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Had lunch here on a cold Thursday in February and were lucky to get a table. My husband and I both had mussels. The portions were huge. Lots of choices, I had nine in Calvados. Mussels and a beer was a set price
