“Never prouder to be a Canadian!”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

This is such an excellent museum and tour offering the Canadian experience. A must see for all Canadians. It will make you proud to be a Canadian. It is easy to access and is so important to see. Wonderful Canadian students man the museum and offer the tours. The movies are so touching and unforgettable.

“Canadian history at its finest”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

We travelled to France expressly to visit the Vimy Ridge Memorial and the Juno Beach Center, and we were very impressed by both. One highlight of the Juno Beach Center is the guided tour of the beach where the landings occurred and the German observation bunker. The guide was very knowledgeable and helped us to understand the context of what we saw around us. It was worth the few extra euros.

The museum itself is fascinating, describing the Canadian experience before, during and after the war. It covers the different aspects of the war on land, sea and air, including the home front. Take the time to watch the interviews with the veterans, and do not miss "They Walk with Us", the short film near the end of the exhibits. It is very moving.

As mentioned by others, the Center is staffed by young Canadians, who all are fluent in French and English, so Canadian visitors do get a sense of "home". The extraordinary effort put in to creating and operating this museum is a credit to Garth Webb and those who supported his vision. You definitely come away from this experience feeling proud to be a Canadian.

My only criticism, and a minor one at that: it would have been nice to have a cafe on site for a drink or light snack. Although there are restaurants within easy walking distance, you do have to leave the museum property, and these restaurants mostly cater to sit-down trade.

The Juno Beach Center is a real Canadian treasure.

“Excellent museum of Canadian D-Day Landings”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Museum is very well done and staffed by Canadians. This is a must see for Canadians and anyone interested in D-Day Landings. Staff provided an extensive tour of the beach and remaining D-Day facilities.

“Great review of history, factual”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Good review of canadian history and a factual (not tourist trap) experience. Must take the tour. Museum is alright but the tour is the best part.

“Must do for every Canadian”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

Thus was our second visit here, the first in 2008. It is so moving and beautiful and informative. This museum is well organized and well run, they also have interactive kids activities (for younger kids ) I am so glad that my kids have been here twice as i am appauled at how little they learn about this in school. The beaches are gorgeous, yet haunting to be on them. If I had any criticism it would be that sometimes the commentaries compete with each other. were staying in Normandy for 5 days and had a car, so easy to get to, but in 2008 we did a train day trip from Paris. A gps is a must in the smaller areas of Normandy, south of this area.
So proud to be a Canadian and of my grandfather who landed in Normandy in 1944.
