“Definitely worth visiting”

Sombre but like all of the beaches nearby history laden and full of amazing stories of bravery. This centre had been very well put together and doesn't spare on detail.

“Very moving experience”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

We spent some time here - the museum is excellent and well laid out. However, the tour of the beach area, including entering a bunker, was the highlight. The young guide was very knowledgeable and switched easlily between English and French. He also encouraged our group to share any direct or indirect memories - several of us had relatives who had taken part in the landings. I would encourage any visitors to ensure that they take this tour.

“Engaging and educational”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

I visited with three children, ages 14, 9, and 7. The museum is very well done with interesting exhibits, well-explained. The tour was the highlight though. We spent much time in Normandy this was the only bunker that we were given the chance to see inside. We are Canadian so Juno beach has particular resonance. But the museum is somewhat unique and is a worthwhile addition to an trip through Normandy. Perhaps the best testament to its effectiveness is that my nine year old daughter after visiting thereafter bought historical fiction about world war II.

“Deeply enlightening”
Reviewed September 4, 2012 via mobile

I'm not Canadian, but this was one of the most interesting aspects of the Normandy Landings historical trail I've been to.

Fascinating museum, but the real gem is the exterior tour of the bunker. Interesting, bilingual guide (better English than French) and plans to extend the outside areas into the tunnels under the beach.

Well worth a visit.

“Very interesting place to visit”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

We had a young man from Ottawa lead us through a beach tour. He was very amusing but at the same time informative and respectful. We learned things about the invasion but also about how the French people lived under the Nazi occupation. Inside, the museum offered glimpses into life in Canada during the build-up and then during the war. There are recorded interviews by veterans and individual items that put a personal perspective to the events. If you're Canadian (or even if you're not) and in the area, it's well worth a visit to this Centre. When you consider that it was fund raised and built by veterans (not the Government of Canada!), it's pretty impressive.
