Let me say upfront that I cannot vouch for the price as we were part of a large group without individual rates given.
This hotel deftly managed to house, feed, and entertain a group of over 100 people - reportedly the largest in its lengthy history. The staff handled every concern quickly and professionally; all questions were answered thoughtfully and promptly.
Room 105 was splendid. It is situated above the restaurant-not ideal for parents with a small child-but noise was never a concern past 10pm. If you've ever travelled in Europe you know how rare that is.
Among the hotel's amenities, I must single out the swimming pool. It is a three-lane pool, uniformly 1.4m in depth. The water was clear and slightly cool ( a good thing) and the hot tub was quite pleasant and user-controllable, but the exquisite part is the view. The exterior walls are all glass, providing an unblemished view of the terrace, courtyard, and the mountains behind the hotel.
All-in-all, the Hotel Ludwig der Bayer is a great hotel worth a few nights' stay. More
